Four-star linebacker Zach Weeks, from Oconee County High School in Watkinsville, Georgia, is one of the most promising players in the 2026 class. The blue-chip prospect has received eight offers, and Sherrone Moore's Michigan is the latest school on the list to offer him on Wednesday night.

In a text exchange with one of Michigan's recruiters, Weeks was informed that he would be receiving a call shortly. Later linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary called him for the scholarship.

"We had a good conversation and then he said I have an offer to come play for them," Weeks told The Michigan Insider. "I was very excited."

Michigan boasts a 4-1 record this season, with its only setback being a 31-12 defeat against the Texas Longhorns on Sept. 7. Despite this loss, Michigan remains a powerhouse in college football and consistently attracts top talent.

For Weeks, receiving an offer from Michigan holds significant weight.

"Michigan is one of the best football programs in the country and I can't wait to come up for a game! It means a lot getting an offer from the reigning national champions!"

Michigan has added two committed players to its 2026 class this year. Four-star quarterback Hart pledged his commitment in June after proving his skills at a camp, and four-star cornerback Brody Jennings followed suit in July.

LSU leads the race for Zach Weeks' commitment

Zach Weeks is in the early stages of his recruitment journey, with a growing list of offers from top-tier college programs, including Florida, North Carolina, Ohio State, LSU and Michigan.

The prospect hasn’t yet revealed his top choices, but LSU stands out as the frontrunner. The Tigers extended an offer to Weeks in July, and according to On3's Recruiting Prediction Machine, it has a 72.7% chance of landing his commitment. Much of the reason behind the Tigers' favorable position stems from family ties.

Zach’s older brothers, West and Whit Weeks, both play for LSU. West is entering his third season with the school after getting transferred from Virginia following his freshman year. Meanwhile, Whit has entered his second season with the program after making an immediate impact last year.

LSU has four players committed in the 2026 class: four-star safety Aiden Hall, four-star defensive lineman Richard Anderson, three-star interior offensive lineman Jalan Chapman and three-star safety Jakai Anderson. The cycle ranks No. 9 in the nation and No. 5 in the Southeastern Conference.
