On Nov. 29, 2024, Arkansas Razorbacks basketball commit Meleek Thomas set social media abuzz when he shared an Instagram story featuring a striking outfit. The photo featured his bold choice of footwear: the Air Jordan 6 'Toro Bravo.'

The Air Jordan 6 'Toro Bravo,' inspired by Michael Jordan’s iconic German sports car, merges high-performance design with a standout aesthetic. Released on May 24, 2023, this model takes its cues from the 2009 Air Jordan 5 'Raging Bull' pack, borrowing its signature all-over Varsity Red suede upper.

The vibrant red is perfectly offset by black accents on the tongue, heel tab and midsole, while an icy translucent outsole adds a fresh, modern touch. Retailing at $200, this shoe caters to a wide audience with full-family sizing options, making it a top pick for sneaker collectors and basketball enthusiasts alike.

Arkansas commit Meleek Thomas sends a bold message at NBPA Camp

Meleek Thomas seems to be bold not just with his play but also with his words. He didn’t hold back during the NBPA Top 100 Camp. The Pittsburgh native made a bold statement when asked about his skills, declaring, “Nobody’s checking me.”

The comment was a clear warning to anyone who thinks they can go toe-to-toe with him on the court, and it instantly turned heads among players and coaches in attendance.

At the camp, some of the nation’s top basketball prospects, including the No. 1 recruit AJ Dybantsa and other elite talents, gathered to showcase their skills. Dybantsa himself interviewed Thomas, asking if he considered himself the most unguardable player in high school basketball.

Without hesitation, Thomas confirmed it, radiating the confidence that has helped him dominate at every level. He didn’t stop there. When asked about the hardest player he’s had to guard, Thomas humorously dismissed the player standing next to him, instead naming USA teammate Isaiah Kier as a challenge.

The 6-foot-4 shooting guard has backed it up with his performances for Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School, where he scored over 1,750 points in three years.

Averaging 23.5 points, 10.8 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game in his last high school season, Thomas has consistently proven he can perform in big moments.

He’s also showcased his skills with New Heights Lightning in the Nike EYBL, averaging 20.3 points in just 27 minutes per game.

Now part of the Overtime Elite program, Thomas has adapted to playing semi-professional basketball while keeping his college eligibility intact.

His assertive comment at the NBPA camp reflects the mentality he brings to every game — a combination of skill, swagger and relentless competitiveness. This has made him one of the most exciting prospects in the Class of 2025.
