Fans praised Darius Acuff, the No. 1 ranked point guard in the 2025 high school basketball class after he put on an impressive show for his school IMG Academy in their City Palms Classic semi-final matchup.
Although IMG Academy was on the losing side as Columbus progressed to the final, Acuff was the star. The No. 7 overall prospect in ESPN’s class of 2025 rankings dropped 27 points and eight assists in his school’s defeat.
But despite ending up on the losing side, Acuff’s performance received praise from fans after Slam High School posted the highlight reel of the game on their Instagram page.
“Darius Acuff is probably the best high school point guard I seen in the last 10 years,” a fan said in the comment section.
“Darius Atuff 👀🍿, another said in the comment section.
“Game High playing against a team with 3 Pros kids is super tuff,” a fan said regarding the challenges Attuf had to face in the game.
“Crazy to just say number 1 ranked PG better out his name on the first image he’s tuff 💪🏼, “ another fan said.
"He the best in country to me," another fan said.
"Damnnnn what a game!!!!," a fan also said.
Acuff was not the only top prospect to play the game. The Boozer twins, Cayden and Cameron, were also in action, helping Columbus progress to the final.
Cameron and Cayden combined for 38 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists, with the former dropping a 22-point, 10-rebound double-double, while the latter added 16 points.
Jaxon Richardson was the best player for Columbus, dropping 23 points on 10-15 shooting.
Columbus won the championship after beating Montverde Academy 59-57 in the final.
Boozer twins and Darius Acuff heading in opposite direction
The Boozer twins and Darius Acuff are unlikely to continue their rivalry post high school as they both committed to different colleges in separate divisions.
Cameron and Cayden have decided to follow in their father’s footsteps, Carlos Boozer, after committing to Duke.
Meanwhile, Acuff chose Arkansas ahead of Kansas, Michigan, Houston and Connecticut. The No. 1 ranked point guard will play alongside fellow five-star prospect Meleek Thomas with the Razorbacks.
