Zyan Gibson’s commitment to Alabama couldn’t have come at a better time, having lost their only 2026 commit defensive lineman, Vodney Cleveland, earlier in December. Moreover, Gibson is a homegrown talent from Gadsden City High School in Gadsden, Alabama. He had more than 15 offers from top programs, including Auburn, Tennessee, and Miami.

Standing at 6-ft-1 and weighing 174 pounds, he ranks No. 7 in Alabama. He is also the No. 10 cornerback nationally, per 247Sports. He has a versatile skillset, featuring both at cornerback and wide receiver for the Gadsden City Titans. As a sophomore in 2023, he completed 17 tackles, one tackle for loss, and a fumble recovery in seven games.

Playing on the offense this season, he has four receptions for 97 yards and two touchdowns in eight games. His speed is an asset he has been able to deploy both in offense and defense. He has also turned his relatively smaller frame from a liability into an asset, using it to evade defenders skillfully.

Zyan Gibson is a versatile athlete who excels in multiple sports, including track and basketball, in addition to his primary sport. Notably, as a sophomore, he achieved impressive track times, recording a 10.85-second 100-meter dash and a 22.19-second 200-meter dash, according to 247Sports.
