Colorado signee Julian Lewis has shared a picture of him and the Buffs’ quarterback Shedeur Sanders in training ahead of the Alamo Bowl. The five-star recruit out of Carrollton High School (GA) posted the picture on his X (formerly Twitter) account with the caption, “New Beginnings.” The post has garnered various reactions from fans on the social media platform.
A Colorado fan, spoke about Shedeur Sanders and wrote:
“That’s my QB.”
Another fan of the Buffs saw Lewis as Shedeur Sanders’s direct successor and wrote:
“@ShedeurSanders has left his imprint and now it's your turn. I can't wait to cheer and pray for you. Blessings to you!”
However, an Indiana fan was not as excited about Lewis’s career. Instead, they imagined a future on the transfer portal for him. They wrote:
“New beginning will be over before it even starts. I’ll call it now, next stop = the Portal.”
Notwithstanding some negative reactions, most of the reactions were positive.
“You’re going to be one of the successful Freshman leading this team to victories… I have a feeling!,” a Colorado fan wrote.
"Same whip new driver," a user said.
Julian Lewis’ relationship with Shedeur Sanders
Julian Lewis, the standout five-star recruit is set to begin his college football journey in 2025 just as Shedeur is projected to move on to the NFL. The Alamo Bowl preparations have provided an opportunity for them to train and bond together.
Buffs coach Deion Sanders is convinced that Lewis has the required talent for the job. He praised his qualities in an interview with sports reporter Romi Bean on Tuesday.
“That young man is phenomenal," Coach Prime said. "He's a really good quarterback, he has all the intangibles. The kid's a winner.”
Julian Lewis’ numbers from high school are a testament to the skillset that he will bring to Boulder. In his high school career, he has amassed 11,010 passing yards for 144 touchdown passes in just 43 games.
