Detroit Lions star defensive end Aidan Hutchinson has had a phenomenal start to the season. The 6-foot-7 defender is currently leading the league in sacks with 6.5 and is one of the leading candidates for the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year award.
Hutchinson has been a dominant force on the gird since his college days, however, he wasn't a known name during his high school stint. In fact, football wasn't even his first sport during high school. Hutchinson was a lacrosse player in high school.
SportsCenter NEXT shared the 24-year-old's lacrosse highlights on its official Instagram account. It was clear from the highlights that Hutchinson was a dominant player back in high school and might have even become a professional lacrosse player.
Hutchinson was a four-star football recruit back in high school and ranked no. 109 nationally, as per On3 Industry Rankings. He was also the 15th-best defensive lineman from the class of 2018 and the best overall recruit from the state of Michigan.
Aidan Hutchinson announced his commitment to the Michigan Wolverines in February 2017. He was one of the best players during his time at Michigan and finished his college career with 18.5 sacks.

Aidan Hutchinson played his high school football for Divine Child High School in Michigan. He was a defensive end during his high school days and occasionally played on offense.
Hutchinson only played three games in his two years for Divine Child High School. He totaled three solo tackles and five assisted tackles in those three games.
In his four years with the Michigan Wolverines, he tallied 18.5 sacks despite not playing more than three games in his junior year due to a season-ending injury. In his senior year, Hutchinson was phenomenal, as he recorded 14 sacks in 14 games and won multiple awards by the end of the season.
He was selected second overall in the 2022 NFL draft by the Detroit Lions and since then has established himself as one of the best defenders in the league. In his three seasons with the Lions, Hutchinson has accumulated 27.5 sacks and is the current sack leader this season with 6.5.
