Four-star linebacker Anthony Davis has been a hot name in the 2026 recruiting class. The standout from Grayson High School in Georgia has a top 12 school list, featuring Colorado, Oklahoma, Alabama, USC, Clemson, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Auburn and Oregon.
Davis is the No. 236 prospect in the nation, the No. 19 linebacker in the 2026 class and Georgia's No. 29 recruit, as per the On3 Industry Rankings. He is planning to commit in spring.
Let's see which three schools have the most potential to secure Davis' commitment.
Top 3 schools vying for Anthony Davis' commitment
3. USC
USC has made a strong push to land Davis, with defensive line coach Eric Henderson and linebackers coach Matt Entz spearheading his recruitment. The Trojans have a 6.8% chance of securing his commitment, as per On3.
On Oct. 12, Davis made an official visit to watch the Trojans take on Penn State. Despite the 33-30 overtime loss, he raved about the game-day atmosphere at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, saying (via On3):
"It was a two-day visit and they went over a lot of things with me, they showed me how I would fit and it was great."
Four-star linebacker Xavier Griffin has committed to USC's 2026 recruiting class. The Trojans also have six other promises this cycle and are ranked second in the nation.
2. Tennessee
Tennessee is positioned as a strong contender for Davis, leveraging their proximity to his hometown and consistent communication. Knoxville is less than 250 miles from Loganville, and he has visited the program four times. On3 gives Josh Heupel's program a 9.6% chance of earning his pledge.
“Tennessee has been very consistent with me,” Davis told On3. “They have a great staff, they know how to win and they play tough in the SEC. The defense has been good in recent years and the environment is great, too.”
Tennessee also has a linebacker committed in three-star prospect Braylon Outlaw. The Vols' class is headlined by five-star quarterback Faizon Brandon and ranks No. 3 in the nation.
1. Auburn
Several recruiting analysts pegged Auburn as Davis' potential landing spot due to his multiple trips and bond with the coaching staff. On3 gives the Tigers a 50.6% in this regard.
"I was at Auburn for two games and they were great," Davis told On3. "I have visited Auburn 7-8 times. Auburn is building something and I can see it. They have a plan, they have a great staff and they aren't afraid to play early."
Auburn has five players committed to its 2026 class, including two linebackers: four-star prospects Shadarius Toodle and JaMichael Garrett. The cycle ranks No. 4 in the SEC and No. 8 in the nation.
