Three-star safety CJ Jimcoily, from Lipscomb Academy in Nashville, Tennessee, is one of the most highly touted prospects in the 2025 class. He has received more than 30 offers, including from LSU, Alabama, Tennessee, Liberty, North Carolina, Arkansas and Samford, among others.

As a junior, Jimcoily played both as a cornerback and safety, finishing the season with 51 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and an interception. He is ranked as the No. 45 safety in the 2025 class and the No. 18 prospect in Tennessee by On3. Jimcoily is set to make his commitment decision on August 8. Let's explore which three programs have the most potential to land the player's commitment.

Top 3 programs vying for CJ Jimcoily's commitment

3. Tennessee

Tennessee is gaining momentum this summer and holds a 1.4% chance of securing CJ Jimcoily's commitment, according to On3's Recruiting Prediction Machine.

"They're making it very hard to leave," Jimcoily told Rivals. "I like their coaching style and they're very personable, which catches my eye. I have a lot of teammates there and it's the home state, so they're showing great interest."

Being the home state team, Tennessee offers a familiar environment as well.

"It's the home state with teammates and coaches who love you, with a program that's up-and-coming, and I recognize what they've accomplished under coach (Josh) Heupel," CJ Jimcoily added. "I value the change and the standard he's provided."

Tennessee's 2025 recruiting class is ranked as the No. 8 class in the country and the No. 5 in the SEC by On3. The class is headlined by blue-chip prospects like George MacIntyre, Douglas Utu, Mariyon Dye, Travis Smith and Lagonza Hayward.

2. Stanford

Stanford holds a 2.1% chance of earning CJ Jimcoily's commitment. The academic and athletic prestige of Stanford has made a huge impact on the player, who described the institution as "a billionaire’s club."

"I would consider football the cherry on top when it comes to this institution, as the opportunities and prestige within the school itself greatly excite my ambitions," Jimcoily told Rivals.

Stanford's 2025 recruiting class already has the commitments of safety prospects Omari Gaines and Donte Utu, and Jimcoily can be a valuable addition to the lineup.

"I am a man driven to success in life, and football just so happened to be encapsulated under this umbrella," Jimcoily added. "As I continue to work tirelessly on the field, Stanford would facilitate my countless projects off the field, and this in particular has drawn interest from me."

Stanford's 2025 recruiting class has 19 committed players and is ranked as the No. 35 class in the country and the No. 7 in the ACC by On3.

1. LSU

LSU is the frontrunner, with a 90.6% chance of securing Jimcoily's commitment. He has a strong family connection there, as his father's family resides in New Orleans. Reflecting on LSU's national championship win in 2019, Jimcoily recalled staying up late to watch that team win the game.

CJ Jimcoily officially visited LSU on June 14 and had high praise for the program.

"One of the biggest things was the communication with all of the different coaches on the staff," Jimcoily told Rivals. "The biggest thing was that family vibe. I had a family connection in Louisiana and this visit solidified that feeling overall."

LSU’s 2025 recruiting class is ranked as the No. 3 class in the country and the No. 2 in the SEC by On3. The class is headlined by five-star players like Bryce Underwood, Derek Meadows and DJ Pickett.
