The 2024 High School Football season is in full swing, with players from all across the country delivering impressive performances, especially the running backs. The high school rushers like Alvin Henderson and Zayden Cook have been on fire to begin the season and will look to continue that in the coming weeks.
Henderson has by far been the best high school running back in the country this season. Cook, though, is not far behind, as he's second in the leading rushers list this season. Other players like Grady Kinsey, Quinn Bailey and Brady Collins are all on the top of the list of leading rushers in the nation.

Top five national rushing leaders of the 2024-25 high school football season
#5 Brady Collins (Clearfield High School, Clearfield, Pennsylvania)
Brady Collins is a senior at Clearfield High School in Clearfield, Pennsylvania. He's one of the best running backs in the high school circuit this season, accumulating 1,690 rushing yards on 136 carries through seven games of the season.
Collins is averaging 241.4 yards per game this season and has logged 21 touchdowns. In his latest game against the Bald Area Eagle Football, he rushed for 238 yards and scored four TDs.
In 43 total games at Clearfield High School, Collins has recorded 4,241 yards on 470 carries and has scored 45 touchdowns.
#4 Quinn Bailey (Chadron High School, Chadron, Nebraska)
Bailey has been consistently great for Chadron High School this season, recording more than 200 rushing yards in all six games, leading the Chadron Cardinals to a 6-0 record. He has recorded 1,706 rushing yards and 20 TDs.
Bailey is averaging a massive 284.3 yards per game on 213 carries. The talented youngster had his season high in carries in his last game against the Chase County Longhorns. He recorded 43 carries and rushed for 286 yards, scoring four touchdowns.
#3 Grady Kinsey (Indian Valley High School, Gnadenhutten, Ohio)
Grady Kinsey came into the 2024 season following a great sophomore year, recording 1,446 rushing yards and 29 touchdowns on 173 carries. He has exceeeded that performance this season after seven games.
Kinsey has accumulated 1,751 rushing yards and 25 touchdowns on 139 carries. He's averaging 250.1 yards per game and has crossed 100 yards in all his seven games. In his latest game against Garaway High School, he recorded 324 yards on 34 carries and scored four TDs en route a 40-35 win for the Braves.
#2 Zayden Cook (Chattooga High School, Summerville, Georgia)
The Chattooga High School's running back Zayden Cook has been great to start the 2024 high school season. The senior has racked up 1,753 rushing yards on 169 carries. He has also scored 19 touchdowns and has led his team to a 5-2 start.
Cook has crossed the 100-yard mark in all seven games. He has recorded more than 200 yards per game six times and has two 300-yard-plus games.
In the Chattooga Indians' latest game against the Fannin County Rebels, Cook rushed for 258 yards on 34 carries but failed to score a touchdown in a 35-7 loss to the Rebels.
#1 Alvin Henderson (Elba High School, Elba, Alabama)
Alvin Henderson is a four-star running back from Elba High School. He has been the best rusher this season, accumulating 2,034 yards on 156 carries and recording 36 touchdowns. The 5-foot-9 Auburn commit has been phenomenal through eight games, averaging 290.6 yards per game.
Henderson didn't play in the Tigers' latest game on Friday against the Pleasant Home Eagles. The youngster is ranked no.153 nationally and is the ninth-best running back in the country, as per On3 Industry Rankings.
