Over the years, IMG Academy has built a reputation for having one of the best high school football programs in the country. This is a reputation built through years of results and producing high quality alumni including NFL quarterback J.J. McCarthy. Therefore, it's only natural that current players in the program would be quite confident in their own ability.
There's no better show of this confidence than a video shared on Instagram. In the video, players were asked which team they'd like to face next, and they gave some interesting responses.
The most interesting, though, is the one calling out Ohio State University for a challenge. Preposterous though it may sound, it may be something winning a 57-0 blowout does to you.

The Ascenders continued their impressive form in the 2024 high school football season last night with a massive 49-6 win over the Mandarin Mustangs.
The Ascenders went into the game off the back of their absolute dominance of Mt. Zion who they beat 57-0 in week 4. Mandarin had shown great promise at the start of the season, winning its first three games.
However, it faced its first test in a narrow 18-13 defeat to Bradford on Sept. 14. The Mustangs must fight for a comeback against Firecoast in their next game to retain their hopes of having a winning season.
IMG Academy, meanwhile, suffered its only defeat of the season against Corner Canyon in its season opener. The narrow 35-34 visit is the only blight on the Ascenders’ form. The team has sealed its recovery with significant win margins against BCHS, Cocoa, Mt. Zion and now Mandarin.

Mater Dei and IMG Academy last faced each other in 2018. In that encounter, Mater Dei emerged the winner with a 28-24 scoreline.

This is interesting because the Monarchs are the highest-ranked high school football program in the country, a spot IMG Academy definitely aims for.
The Ascenders, ranking seventh after Week 4, are still six places behind a Mater Dei team that is in great form. The Monarchs secured another victory against St. Frances on Sept. 20, taking them 4-0.
