On September 11, MBC dropped the teaser of the 2024 Idol Star Athletics Championships on their official entertainment social media page. Idol Star Athletics Championships or ISAC is a special TV show where K-pop idols participate in multiple sports competitions and interact with the fans.

ZEROBASEONE's Sung Han-bin, NMIXX's Sullyoon, Yves, and many more appeared in the trailer released by MBC. BOYNEXTDOOR's Jaehyun garnered attention for cheering loudly for the players. Artists like EVNNE, BEWAVE, UNIS, NCT Wish, NMIXX, Kiss Of Life, and many more have joined the show.

The special program is set to return after two years since the release of ISAC 2022, creating much excitement among fans. ISAC is held twice a year, one during the Lunar holidays and the other during the Chuseok Holidays. The show is set to be broadcast on MBC channel in three different parts this year during the Chuseok festival holidays. It will also air on Viki in limited regions.

2024 Idol Star Athletics Championships release date and air time:

  • Part 1 on Monday, September 16 at 6:00 pm KST
  • Part 2 on Tuesday, September 17 at 5:30 pm KST
  • Part 3 on Wednesday, September 18 at 5:30 pm KST

The sports events of this year's Championship include track and field, archery, dance sport, and futsal. The break dance event is a newly added event to the show as it was a part of the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics.

One of the most anticipated special programs Idol Star Athletics Championships is set to mark its return this year with new K-pop artists and groups debuted in the fifth generation appearing alongside well-known celebrities. The show is set to be hosted by seven MCs who will keep the audience captivated with their commentary.

This seven MC line-up includes Jun Hyun-moo, Jang Min-ho, Young Tak, Lee Chan-won, former Wannaone member Kang Daniel, NMIXX’s leader Haewon, and Jeong Dong-won. Additionally, STAYC's Sieun and South Korean rapper DinDin will join as special anchors on the ground.

According to Top Star News, Infinite's Woohyun, Ex-Imperial Children member Dongjun, BTOB's Eunkwang, and VIXX's Leo were also reportedly present for the Futsal event.


More about 2024 ISAC

The first filming of the Idol Star Athletics Championships took place on August 5, 2024, starting with the oath-taking session done by NCT WISH’s Sion, NMIXX’s Sullyoon, ILLIT’s Wonhee, and TWS’ Shinyu.

NMIXX's Sullyoon scored a perfect ten, impressing the audience during the archery event. Meanwhile, THE BOYZ's Younghoon stole the show by breaking the camera and bagging perfect ten points in archery.

Four members of the girl group BADVILLAIN including EMMA, Chloe Young, and INA scored 9.7 points taking the first position in the Break Dance event. KISS OF LIFE member Julie took first place in the 60-meter women's relay race winning a gold medal. WayV's Xiaojun also won the gold medal taking the first spot in the men's 60-meter relay race.

K-pop fans may catch the rest of the events on the 2024 Idol Star Athletics Championship show broadcast on MBC from September 16 to 18.
