4 Minutes: The contrasting lives of Tyme-Great and Tonkla-Korn

At the end of episode 7 of 4 Minutes, the tension had built enough as Tyme was shot in the chest, and Great was left in a hospital bed while doctors struggled to wake him.

Episode 8, the final chapter, opens with a series of heartwarming scenes where Tyme and his ex-girlfriend amicably part ways, followed by Tyme meeting Great for the first time. The two flirt, spend quality time together and enjoy peaceful moments. However, it’s soon revealed that these pleasant events are merely happening within Tyme’s mind.

The audience realizes this when Tyme is seen sleeping alone, and the long, echoing voice of Doctor Den cuts through the dream. Den urges Tyme to wake up, warning him that his visions are not real and that he is on the verge of death.

As Den performs CPR on Tyme, Tyme's consciousness in the dream hears the doctor's voice and rushes to find Great in an attempt to wake him up as well. Den’s efforts bring Tyme back from cardiac arrest and he is rushed to the hospital.

Meanwhile, a subplot involving Great’s brother Korn and his fiancée, Fah, unfolds. The couple was originally engaged for business reasons, but Fah calls off the wedding, leaving Korn confused.

Simultaneously, Inspector Win reveals to his department that Tonkla, seeking revenge for the death of his brother Dome (who was a friend of Great), is responsible for multiple murders. Win vows to bring Tonkla to justice.

As the news spreads, Korn contacts Tonkla to offer his support, despite Tonkla being on the run. Inspector Win tracks them down through a CCTV feed. In a tense confrontation at a secluded garage, Tonkla confesses to Korn that he had cheated on him with Win and admits to shooting Great as part of his vengeance for Dome’s death.

Korn, shocked and enraged, pulls a gun on Win, and in the chaos, Win accidentally shoots Tonkla when Tonkla tries to protect Korn. Tonkla dies from the wound, and Korn, consumed by grief, takes his own life shortly after. This emotional moment is emphasized as the couple’s happiest moments are replayed before their tragic end. This was their own "4 minutes" moment.

The episode moves forward to a poignant scene at the cemetery where Great mourns Korn, and Tyme grieves his grandmother. Afterward, they visit the hospital, meeting Den and his patient and now-girlfriend Lukwa. Great and Lukwa share a connection, having both experienced visions of the future.

Great and Tyme later find themselves on a boat, nervously watching the clock as it approaches 11:04, the time that had been significant in their earlier visions.

As the clock ticks to 11:05 without an incident, they breathe a sigh of relief, realizing that their shared moments are real. Great ultimately confesses his past involvement to Win, though he is not punished, as he wasn’t directly responsible for Dome’s death.

The show ends on a bittersweet note. While the main couple, Tyme and Great, find their happy ending and begin their romantic life together, the tragic fates of Tonkla and Korn leave the audience with mixed emotions. This much-anticipated Thai BL series, 4 Minutes concludes with a mix of heartache and fulfillment, giving fans a conclusion that is both poignant and satisfying.
