The popular Japanese gay couple Dai and Shun from The Boyfriend have recently captured significant attention online following their relationship confirmation. On Saturday, August 3, Netflix Japan released a commentary episode The Boyfriend Night Vol. 4 on its official YouTube channel.
In this episode, all cast members, including Dai and Shun, met the hosts MEGUMI, Yoshimi Tokui, Thelma Aoyama, Dorian Lollobrigida, and Chiaki Horan. The cast opened up about their experience of appearing on Japan's first same s*x dating show while also sharing some fun anecdotes in discussion with the hosts.
Dai and Shun are the only couple from the show who are currently in a relationship, and their romance has excited fans who supported them throughout. During the commentary episode, they shared some adorable moments for viewers to remember.

Dai & Shun’s relationship
Viewers have been eager to learn about the status of Dai and Shun's relationship, given the many hurdles and emotional challenges they faced on the show. They also showcased their affection and confessed their love for each other in the final episode of The Boyfriend, which aired on July 30.
At the beginning of the commentary episode, Dai and Shun sat beside each other. When the hosts asked them what happened following their kiss in the last episode, they held each other's hands and confirmed they were dating. Shun revealed that they have been together since October 2023 and are now living together.
Shun met Dai's family and friends
During an episode of The Boyfriend, Dai discussed Shun with his friends. In the commentary episode, when asked about their reaction. Dai stated that they asked him to watch out as Shun seemed to be troublesome.
Shun later shared that he met Dai's friends and expressed his nervousness, but everything was fine. Meanwhile, Shun revealed that he lived with Dai's parents for three months, they are fond of him. Dai's parents find Shun funny and that they recently had lunch together.
Dai & Shun's skinship
The Boyfriend couple sat beside each other the whole time and maintained a distance, but following their relationship, things changed. They were seen holding each other's hands. Yoshimi Tokui pointed out that they must always be holding hands, as the cast members revealed being used to Dai and Shun.
Chiaki Horan also noticed that they were sitting a little apart from each other in the beginning, but Shun moved closer to each other as they held hands.
The Sashimi Fight
When the hosts asked about arguments or fights, Dai revealed that they almost fight every day. Dai shared that they recently got into a fight because of Sashimi. Shun brought four Sashimis and ate one, but there was only one left. Watching this, Dai asked him not to eat anymore.
Shun explained that he did not eat more, and despite the argument being small, it led to another fight as they knocked down a pot. Later, they had to change the carpet because of the broken pot. However, they still get along well.

This episode also revealed two unseen couple photos of Dai and Shun together. One photo seemingly appeared to be taken at a restaurant, while the other one was a selfie.
