On August 8, 2024, BLACKPINK members, including Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rosé, organized Our Area with BLINKS fan sign event to commemorate the group's eighth debut anniversary. A total of 88 fans were selected through a lucky draw to attend the event and naturally cheered for the group members with enthusiasm and screams.
The four-member group performed their famous track STAY, released on November 1, 2016, as part of the band's second digital single album titled Square Two. Subsequently, the audience in the crowd cheered for them.

1) Lisa's MTV VMA nomination and upcoming single New Woman
At the fan sign event, a fan congratulated BLACKPINK's Lisa for bagging four nominations at the MTV VMA 2024 Awards. In response, the rapper expressed her shock and stated she could not believe the recent nominations. She further disclosed that it was uncertain whether she would attend the upcoming award show.
Lisa also discussed her upcoming track, New Woman, and stated that it would have a feminine choreography and be much easier to remember than her previous track, Rockstar.
2) Jennie's New Album
During the group's Our Area with BLINKS fan sign meeting, Jennie was questioned about her upcoming solo album. In response, the female artist responded in an affirmative tone and stated, 'Yeah, almost there, coming soon.' She disclosed that the record would be released in 2024 and consist of a diverse range of selfie photo cards in her physical album.
Jennie asked fans to look forward to her upcoming solo album, promising it would include everything they’ve ever wanted. She shared that the album would feature a variety of genres and hinted at bright, colorful makeup in her promotional activities.
3) Rosé's upcoming album would include Vampirehollie
At the fan sign event, BLACKPINK's Rosé unveiled that she had finished recording all the songs for her upcoming album, and it would not be a single record. She added that both GONE and HTL style tracks would be present, and the song Vampirehollie would be incorporated into the album. It should be noted that the idol shared a snippet of Vampirehollie to commemorate her 27th birthday on February 11, 2024.
She also revealed that she would also try to create a documentary where she would enhance the album as it's almost completed.
4) BLACKPINK's Jisoo working on her solo music and upcoming drama NewTopia
During the fan sign event, BLACKPINK's Jisoo shared that she was working on her solo music and preparing for it. The female artist disclosed that she was unclear about singing an Original Sound Track for Korean Drama. The idol also shared the thought of creating a personal TikTok account.
The idol further discussed her upcoming zombie-themed drama, NewTopia, scheduled for release in 2025. She requested fans to enjoy it and added three important points to look forward to in the series, including her character Yeongju's growth process, zombies, and comical elements.
The female artist also shared that her upcoming film, Omniscient Readers Viewpoint, where she would chronicle the role of Lee Ji-hye, would be slightly different from the webtoon. BLACKPINK's Jisoo also expressed her desire to do more fan signs if she ever had a solo fan sign event.
5) BLACKPINK's much-anticipated comeback in 2025
During the group's fan sign event for their eighth anniversary, a fan questioned Jennie about the future activities of BLACKPINK. In response, the female artist hinted at the possibility of something good happening to the group in 2025 and a possible comeback.
Regarding the question about their comeback, the female artist shared that they would try and did not provide a detailed explanation. However, the founder of YG Entertainment, Yang Hyun-suk, revealed that the group would be having a comeback in 2025 and they would embark on a world tour in support of their upcoming album.
In recent news, the four-member group released a concert film, BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR (BORN PINK) on July 31, 2024, which had limited screenings. The movie featured the band's performances from their Seoul Gocheok Dome and footage from other concerts conducted in different cities.
