Korean Dramas are becoming popular among fans for their storyline, visuals, aesthetics, characters, and soundtracks in recent years. Horror and supernatural K-dramas like Sweet Home with their concept of monsterization crisis are something that fans have grown to appreciate.

As the third installment of Sweet Home is to hit the American streaming platform Netflix, the K-drama Community is waiting to see the conclusion of the final struggle of humanity, where they either have to succumb to their greed or get rid of their materialistic desires.

It depicts the story of the Crown Prince, Lee Chang, who embarks on a journey to investigate his father's illness. However, the crown prince ends up fighting the zombies as the deadly epidemic slaughters the kingdom and simultaneously struggles for political power.

Similar to Sweet Home, Kingdom offers a blend of horror and greed for immortality, transforming humans into monsters.


2) Duty After School Part 1 and 2

Duty After School depicts the struggles of Sungjin High School students as South Korea faces an unprecedented alien invasion, where insect-like creatures attack humans. Subsequently, the government imposes mandatory conscription for high school students and promises to reward them with extra points for their examinations. Soon, the battle between aliens and humans begins, and both parties are determined to live. Duty After School is divided into two parts.

Similar to Sweet Home, Duty After School focuses on the desperate plight of young adults fighting alien creatures, accompanied by comical elements.


3) The Uncanny Counter

The action and mystery drama The Uncanny Counter focuses on the life of 'Counters,' whose goal in life is to catch evil spirits who steal the bodies of innocent human with the help of their unique supernatural powers. Four counters strive among ordinary human beings and own a noodle restaurant from where they operate. The drama also has a second season titled The Uncanny Counter 2.

Similar to Sweet Home, The Uncanny Counter focuses on eliminating the evil side of humanity.


4) All of Us Are Dead

All of Us Are Dead revolves around the zombie virus outbreak at a high school after a student gets bitten by an experimented mouse. The students soon get infected with a virus and transform into zombies. The trapped survivors went through multiple challenges to save their lives and fight the converted students. While some lost their friends, the other students succumbed to evil.

Similarly, Sweet Home, All of Us Are Dead, focuses on companionship, friendship, kindness, and the humility of human beings when faced with an unprecedented crisis. The drama has been confirmed for a second season.


5) Gyeongseong Creature

Set in the spring of 1945, Gyeongseong Creature season 1 showcases Jang Tae-sang (played by Park Seo-joon) and Yoon Chae-ok's (played by Han So-hee) unexpected encounter with a monstrous creature originating from biological experiments. The experiments were performed at the secret base of Ongseong Hospital when the country was colonized by Japan. Tae-sang, known as one of the richest people in the city, meets a talented tracker Chae-ok, who is in search of her mother, who went missing decades ago.

The duo struck a deal for their own goals and started working together. However, they fell for each other, and the fight with the creature began. As the drama concluded with a cliffhanger, Netflix has confirmed that Gyeongseong Creature was renewed for a second season with the new installment based in modern-day Seoul, which will come out in 2024.

Similar to Sweet Home, Gyeongseong Creature uses human emotions while the protagonist fights against the ill-treatment meted out to the civilians during the Japanese occupation.
