1) Jimin and Jungkook’s cover of We Don’t Talk Anymore by Charlie Puth

In June 2017, Jimin and Jungkook of the popular K-pop boy group BTS recorded a cover of the hit song We Don't Talk Anymore by American singer Charlie Puth, featuring Selena Gomez.

The pop song was recorded in English and released as a part of the 2017 BTS Fiesta. The song started with Jungkook singing the intro and ended with the chorus.

BTS' Jimin took over with the second solo verse and was then joined by Jungkook towards the end. The song tells the story of a love gone wrong, as two former lovers become strangers to one another.


2) ONEUS' Seoho cover of Talking to the Moon by Bruno Mars

On February 6, 2020, the music video of Seoho of the K-pop group ONEUS was released as he sang a rendition of the hit song Talking to the Moon by Bruno Mars. The lead singer and eldest member of ONEUS captured melancholic notes while walking down a dimly lit and deserted bridge.

The original song was released in 2010 as a part of the Doo-Wops & Hooligans album. The power ballad expresses the sadness of a failed relationship.


3) ATEEZ's cover of Sherlock by SHINee

For the 1000th episode of Music Bank in 2019, several K-pop groups performed past hits from other acclaimed K-pop idols. Dreamcatchers, ATEEZ, WJSN, and ONEUS were among the groups that took the stage.

For their performance, ATEEZ performed the hit song Sherlock from the popular boy group SHINee. Sherlock was the lead single from Shinee’s 4th extended play of the same name, released in 2012, and is often considered K-pop’s first hybrid remix.

In 2021, BLACKPINK’s Rose was a guest artist on the third episode of SEA OF HOPE, the South Korean reality show. The K-pop idol performed the 2009 hit The Only Exception by the punk/ rock band Paramore.

Rose played for a small crowd, during the episode, and was backed up by instrumentalists. The K-pop idol also showed off her guitar skills as she played along to her song cover. The song lyrics express the hope of newfound love and the happiness of finding that special someone.

In 2020, the K-Pop girl group, ITZY, kicked off their US Showcase tour with a show in Los Angeles. The newly debuted girl group performed their own songs, ICY and Dalla Dalla, before covering hit songs from other K-pop idols, to the excitement of the crowd.
