Recent reports suggesting that BTS may make a full-group comeback in 2025 have ignited excitement among fans worldwide. As per a January 4 report by Money Control, industry insiders have indicated that BTS plans to release a new album in 2025.

This comeback is rumored to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their The Most Beautiful Moment in Life series, a pivotal project in their discography that garnered international acclaim. Additionally, there is speculation about the K-pop group's world tour in 2026.

Fans have taken to social media to express their hopes for the group's timely return and to seek clarity on the situation.

"7 or nothing, that's right," one fan tweeted.

Many fans shared this sentiment:

"Already completed their contract renewals and are preparing to conquer the global market," one fan wrote.
"My sister was talking with her friend about legends who have changed the music game recently and they both agreed there haven't been big popular legends recently and then my sister said "oh except for BTS. they're it". Mind you she's a local and i didn't say a word," another fan shared.
"Would I want them to rest after service? sure. But if they want to come back and grace us with music i’m SUPER HAPPY about it. I miss them sm," another fan added.

Several fans also voiced concerns about the group's physical and mental health and whether they could handle the rigorous schedules of performing on a global tour and recording an album.

"But we knew this, the tannies have been telling us this times and times again. The media are only catching up on this now because 2025 is finally here. They thought that this would not happen. And now they're trying to get on BTS and army good side," one fan noted.
"I’m torn between being excited about an album/ tour in 2025 and wanting them to give themselves some time to reassimilate post enlistment," another fan stated.
"SOOO SO so happy but I honestly hope they don't release music right away, I mean I really want them to take their time to deliver what they really want to and to be comfortable," one other fan remarked.

Anticipated economic impact of BTS's 2025 comeback post-military discharge

The announcement of BTS' 2025 comeback has generated significant buzz among fans and within economic circles. According to a JoongAng Ilbo report on January 2, the group's return could yield approximately 1.87 trillion KRW (around 1.27 billion USD) in revenue from album sales, digital downloads, and concert tours between the latter half of 2025 and 2026.

In September 2023, HYBE, the entertainment company managing BTS, announced that all seven members had renewed their contracts with BIGHIT MUSIC, a subsidiary of HYBE. This renewal was seen as a commitment to continue group and individual activities.

However, during a Q3 2024 earnings call in November, HYBE's Chief Financial Officer, Lee Kyung-joon, addressed uncertainties regarding BTS' group activities. He said that while discussions were ongoing, a full-group comeback might not occur until 2026.

If the group makes a full comeback in 2025, then it would coincide with the 10th anniversary of The Most Beautiful Moment in Life series. Released between 2015 and 2016, the HYYH series comprises The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 1, The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 2, and The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever.

This trilogy marked a significant evolution in BTS' musical journey. It explored themes of youth, growth, and the trials of transitioning into adulthood. The series not only resonated deeply with fans but also played a pivotal role in propelling BTS onto the international stage.

During a Bloomberg interview on October 13, 2023, Bang Si-hyuk, also known as "Hitman" Bang, confirmed plans for a 10th-anniversary project dedicated to the HYYH series. He emphasized the importance of this era in the group's history and expressed enthusiasm for revisiting it.

"When we were young and we were all working together, we said to each other, ‘Let’s make sure we put out a 10-year anniversary album and a project’. If they hadn’t signed with [HYBE], they still would have released it, just not with us – they would have done it with somebody else," Bang said.
"It’s very important to me that I’m able to keep this promise – and, in fact, I think many people may have guessed it, but this is the first time that I am mentioning in public that there is going to be a 10-year anniversary project."

As of January 2025, several BTS members are completing their mandatory military service. J-Hope concluded his service in October 2024, following Jin, who was discharged in June 2024.

The remaining members—RM, Suga, Jimin, V, and Jungkook—are expected to complete their service by the end of 2025, aligning with the potential timeline for a group reunion.
