Bad Memory Eraser episode 12 recap: Lee Goon's suspicion of Lee Shin's involvement in his accident intensifies
Episode 12 of Bad Memory Eraser begins with Lee Shin furiously pushing Lee Goon into the pool. Goon recalls his childhood when he fell into the water and was saved by a girl, and also the instance when he was pushed from a bridge.
In addition to this, he also sees a glimpse of a glowing bracelet. Seeing him drowning, Ju-yeon and Shin both jump in the pool to save him. They take him out of the water and try to get him back to consciousness.
Goon wakes up in his house, and he finds himself alone with Sae-yan, who is taking care of him while he is sick. She tells Goon that Ju-yeon told her to take care of him. Goon tries to contact Ju-yeon, but she refrains from talking to him. It seems that she is trying to bring Goon and Sae-yan closer together after knowing that she is Goon’s first love.
Sae-yan takes good care of Goon as he promises her to help her find her biological father. Ju-yeon keeps taking updates from Sae-yan but avoids talking to Goon directly. Meanwhile, Lee Shin tries hard to connect to Ju-yeon, but she avoids his calls. When he calls Ju-yeon, he receives some photos of a man with a mask on his face, sent by Chief Hong.
Hong tells him that this man is a witness, who followed him to the bridge and took his photos when he pushed Goon from the Han River bridge. Hong doubts that the man is someone who gambles on sports and that he may instruct Shin for match-fixing or demand money from him.
In the next scene, Ju-yeon is in her house putting her books in order when she finds Goon's emotions diary, which Sae-yan brought home by mistake. After reading it, she learns that Professor Han asked him to write about how he felt in his personal diary.
Goon wrote about his first love, which she also read. He's been feeling lonely for a long time, so it seems like he's been yearning to see his first love for a long time. He also wrote about how sad he was on his birthdays because Shin got all the attention because they had the same birthday.
Later in this episode of Bad Memory Eraser, Shin then follows Ju-yeon to her house. Ju-yeon’s mother welcomes Shin and offers him something to eat, which mistakenly falls on his clothes. So, Ju-yeon’s mother offers him a pair of clothes that belonged to Ju-yeon’s late father to change into.
He changes his clothes and tells her mother that he will wait until Ju-yeon arrives home. He spends time with Ju-yeon’s family and in between he also sees Goon’s emotion diary. He secretly takes it away.
On the other hand, Sae-yan is still at Goon’s house taking care of him. She prepares an Italian remedy for Goon using alcohol, and she drinks it herself. Therefore, Goon carries drunk Sae-yan to Ju-yeon’s house, giving her a piggyback ride.
Ju-yeon returns home at night, and as she enters her house, she sees Shin playing a card game with his family. She calls him out and gets angry at him for following her. Shin then confesses his feelings and tells her that he likes her. Ju-yeon refuses, but Shin seems adamant about his feelings.
He says that she was just pretending to be a fake first love for Goon, and now she has fallen for him in real life. He says that it has no meaning, and the more Ju-yeon tries to push him away, the stronger his feelings will grow for her.
While Ju-yeon and Shin are arguing, Goon enters Ju-yeon’s house carrying drunk Sae-yan on his back. Ju-yeon takes Sae-yan inside the house, and Goon offers Shin to play a tennis match with him.
They head to the practice room, and while playing their match, Goon says that he wants something desperately. He tells Shin that he wants his glowing bracelet, which Shin used to wear regularly, but isn't wearing it nowadays. Goon asks him if he lost it somewhere around the Han River bridge.
As Shin listens, he starts to panic, thinking that Goon has dragged out his long-lost memories. At the same time, we notice that an unfamiliar individual is covertly observing them in the practice room. Shin then burns Goon's emotion diary in the scenario that follows. As Shin departs, the man trailing behind him hastily retrieves the journal from the flames.
While Shin is in the training center the following day, he receives an anonymous message that includes photographs of Goon's emotion diary. Included in the message sent by that mysterious individual were the details of when and where to meet. Shin informs Hong about the man, and they make preparations to catch him when he arrives to meet Shin.
In the meantime, Goon is seen at the police station, where the officer tells him that his brother came to meet him that day. And also shared that Shin told them that he can’t let Goon remember his lost memories.
The officer also tells him that there is no CCTV footage of the accident night. He goes on to say that Shin rescued Goon after he fell off the bridge, but he thinks it's unusual because Shin rescued Goon while still wearing his whole outfit—not even taking off his shoes to swim.
Ju-yeon finds out that Goon’s diary is missing from her house and that Shin might have taken it with him. Goon is seen standing on the place of his accident, the Han River Bridge. He notices a building near that location and reaches out to them for the CCTV footage. They offer him the dashcam footage of that night, from their vehicle.
As Goon delves into the film, he gets a call from Guk Bong. Bong urgently requests that Goon locate Shin, as Shin departed from the training center without providing any information.
While waiting for the mysterious stranger who is blackmailing him, Shin is shown sitting in a cafe. The man flees the cafe as soon as he sees how many men are waiting outside to apprehend him. After Shin follows him, Bad Memory Eraser episode 12 comes to an end.
