Korean Dramas, or K-dramas, are taking the world by storm. These shows have intriguing storylines, appealing visuals, unique concepts, inclusion of a variety of emotions, versatile actors, and other elements that keep viewers hooked to a series till the end.

August 2024 was filled with numerous hits, including Love Next Door, Perfect Family, The Tyrant, Romance in the House, and No Gain, No Love. The past month has been packed with series revolving around different genres.

September is set to introduce the K-drama community to numerous new series with different themes, including crime, thriller, action, family, romance, comedy, and more.


Seoul Busters, The Judge from Hell, and others: 7 Best K-dramas to watch in September 2024

1) Seoul Busters

The upcoming comedy and crime K-drama Seoul Busters revolves around the unique partnership of South Korea's lowest-ranking homicide squad and the superior elite homicide team, which later emerges as the best group in the nation. The protagonist, Dongbang Yoo-bin, was the header/leader of Songwon Police Station's homicide squad.

He was provided the opportunity for a permanent professorship at a foreign university. However, he declined the offer and voluntarily joined the Songwon Police Station's homicide squad Unit 2 as the leader. With twelve episodes, Seoul Busters is slated to premiere on September 11, 2024, through Disney+.


2) The Judge From Hell

The upcoming fantasy and action K-drama The Judge From Hell will depict the unique love story of elite judge Kang Bit-na and detective Han Da-on. While Kang Bit-na is on a mission to kill people who have murdered other individuals and showed no remorse, Han Da-on has a painful past.

The Judge From Hell, featuring fourteen episodes, will premiere on September 21, 2024, through the streaming platform Disney+.


3) Dear Hyeri

The upcoming slice-of-life K-drama Dear Hyeri will chronicle the story of a female announcer from South Korea named Joo Eun-ho, whose life changes drastically after a major accident. When her close sister disappeared out of the blue, she was wretched and subsequently developed Dissociative Identity Disorder. At the same time, she also breaks up with her boyfriend. Meanwhile, her ex-boyfriend, Jung Hyun-oh, has hidden his scars deep within his heart.

The upcoming series Dear Hyeri, featuring twelve episodes, will premiere on September 23, 2024, through ENA and Genie TV.


4) What Comes After Love

What Comes After Love will depict the reunion of lovers Choi Hong and Aoki Jungo after five years. The duo met when Choi Hong went to study in Japan as a Korean student. However, the couple decided to break up due to different perspectives regarding love and practical problems.

The much-anticipated K-drama series What Comes After Love has been adapted from the novel Sarang Hue Oneun Gotdeul and will premiere on September 27, 2024. It will feature six episodes and be available for streaming on the platform Coupang Play.


5) Dog Knows Everything

The upcoming slice-of-life K-drama Dog Knows Everything will depict the story of a respected veteran actor, Lee Soon-jae, who gets involved in an unexpected incident and is labeled a bully by the public. Dejected by the situation, he runs away to Geoje Island, where he encounters a former police dog, Sophie.

Soon, Lee Soon-jae starts hearing Spohie's barking as human language, and the duo embarks on a journey to investigate the incidents occurring in the neighborhood. Dog Knows Everything, featuring twelve episodes, is slated to premiere on September 25, 2024, through KBS2.


6) Gyeongseong Creature season 2

According to Netflix, the upcoming K-drama Gyeongseong Creature season 2 will showcase the story set in the modern Seoul of 2024. Ho-jae and Yoon Chae-ok meet, and the latter finds an uncanny resemblance between the former and her past lover, Jang Tae-sang. Together, they embark on a suspenseful journey to find out about their incomplete relationship, fate, and past from Gyeongseong.

Gyeongseong Creature season 2 is slated to premiere on September 27, 2024, through the streaming platform Netflix.


7) Iron Family

The upcoming K-drama Iron Family will depict the banter between family members who would often showcase warm love and ugly fights over time. The series would shed light on the meaning of family in the present times. It will showcase the story of Da Rim's family, who owns a laundry company that irons money instead of clothes.

Iron Family is slated to premiere on September 28, 2024, through the streaming platform Netflix.


Many other Korean Dramas, including Iron Family, Poong The Joseon Psychiatrist Season 1, and Culinary Class Wars, are set to premiere on the American streaming platform Netflix.
