G-Dragon's 'like' on Min Hee-jin's Instagram post has sparked mixed reactions from netizens. The post was associated with the controversial resignation of Min Hee-jin from ADOR and HYBE.

On November 20, NewJeans' Hanni's workplace bullying and harassment case was dismissed over technicalities. Due to the nature and content of her employment contract, she could not be considered an 'employee/worker' under current labor laws. Hence, she was deemed ineligible for protection.

On the same day, after the judgement, Min Hee-jin announced her departure from HYBE by releasing a long statement and an Instagram post wherein a bunny is holding a placard with 'resignation' written in Korean. Almost a week later, BIGBANG's G-Dragon has redrawn the attention back to the whole controversy by liking Min Hee-jin's Instagram post.

It has divided the internet, as many point out how the two controversial names in the K-pop industry are supporting each other. Following Min Hee-jin's allegations of being a p*dophile, many K-pop fans pointed out how the Crooked's singer has kept himself associated with former BIGBANG member Seungri, who was convicted of s*xual trafficking in the 'Burning Sun Scandal.' One of the fans' comments reflected such a sentiment:

"Birds of the same feathers...."
"Good, birds of feather flocked together," - a comment read.
"Maybe she will work for him next," - a BTS fan speculated.

However, many came to his and NewJeans support as they rejoiced how one of the greatest K-pop stars is lending his indirect support to NewJeans' struggles.

"The King has spoken"
"He's on the right side of history," - an X user mentioned.
"actual legends supporting other legends," - a fan reacted.

G-Dragon posts an Instagram story with NewJeans bunini plush

K-pop fans, especially NewJeans' fandom (also known as Bunnies), also shared how G-Dragon liking Min Hee-jin's resignation post did not surprise them as earlier this year he posted a picture of his cat on an Instagram story with NewJeans' bunini plush (official merchandise).

"I'm not surprised G-Dragon seems supportive of Min Hee-jin, he also posted a pic of him and his cat with a bunini plush earlier in the year too. Many are showing their support for her and NewJeans, so it's easy to see the king himself among them." - a BUNNY expressed.

Fans also noticed how the Power's singer follows Min Hee-jin from his private Instagram account. They also stated that the artist has a habit of liking random things on Instagram, so people should not make a big deal.

"He just liked her post and that could have several meanings maybe anyway," - a fan said.
"He likes different post everyday now on instagram. Not only by MHJ." - another fan stated.

G-Dragon's drug use controversies

The singer-rapper has been accused of various offences majority being related to drug use. In 2011, he was investigated for smoking marijuana illegally. However, the charges were dropped as the artist was a first-time offender.

In 2023, G-Dragon was involved in yet another drug use investigation wherein the artist firme denied the allegations and actively cooperated with the investigation. Later, the case was closed off due to a series of negative drug tests and insufficient evidence.

On November 23, 2024, three of the BIGBANG's members G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung made headlines with their historic performance at the 2024 MAMA Awards. This performance marked the group's reunion at MAMA after 9 years. The performance began with the rapper's new singles Power and Home Sweet Home which features the bandmates Taeyang and Daesung.
