Black Out episode 8 recap: Jeong-woo's friends know much more than they are telling

Sang-cheol pretends to be unconscious when Byeong-mu rams his car. When Byeong-mu tries to retrieve the DNA tests, Sang-cheol stops him, leading to a scuffle.

Jeong-woo tells Min-su that he knows about Min-su's presence in the warehouse that night. Min-su tells him that if Jeong-woo had drunk with them then none of it would have happened.

A flashback plays of that day when Geon-oh has left the three: Bo-yeong, Min-su, and Byeong-m in the warehouse. Over personal insults, things get heated between Byeong-mu and Bo-yeong who then tries to overpower Bo-yeong and r*pes her.

However, Min-su tells Jeong-woo that they left her that way but they were not the only ones there. Two of Sang-cheol's subordinates arrive at the scene to arrest Min-su.

Gu-tak receives the evidence Sang-cheol collected: Bo-yeong's phone video and DNA test of her underwear. While worried, he is relieved to know that Geon-oh's DNA was not tested. He proceeds with the arrests of Byeong-mu and Min-su, and the 10-year-old case finally reopens.

Na-gyeom is following Ha Seol and Jeong-woo who are trying to find Geon-oh. She is visibly uncomfortable with their association.

Sang-cheol interrogates Byeong-mu. However, Byeong-mu pleads his right to remain silent.

Ye Yeong-sil presents Hyeong-sik with his pictures with Ha Seol at the hospital. She confronts him about the reason he went with her. However, he assures her that it's only for the sake of his patient, Su-oh, but she does not believe him.

Min-su and Byeong-mu's fathers arrive at the police station. They hope for the boys' release but Gu-tak informs him that they may go to prison.

They wonder why Geon-oh's name is not on the list and threaten Gu-tak that if they go down, they will take Geon-oh's name too but Gu-tak reverts that if they say anything, they may get a severe sentence instead of being not guilty.

They assert that Geon-oh was there too but Gu-tak says that his name is not mentioned as the video records him going away to get alcohol. Min-su's father threatens Gu-tak but he asserts his power as a police chief. The two get down to their knees to beg for their sons' release.

Gu-tak tries to manipulate facts and talks his section chief into putting only r*pe charges on Byeong-mu and Da-eun and the charge of murder remains on Jeong-woo. Consequently, they believe that there is no point in reopening the case. Byeong-mu's father asks him to confess to the part of his s*xual assault as Gu-tak would handle the rest.

A drunk Geon-oh keeps hallucinating about Bo-yeong and apologises to strangers thinking they are Bo-yeong. He asks Geon-oh to accompany him to the police station. Lawyers help Byeong-mu and Min-su to only get charges of s*xual assault.

Instead of coming in for a witness interview, Geon-oh tells the police he wishes to turn himself in. Gu-tak is not able to come to the station as he is meeting with Congresswoman Ye Yeong-sil. It is revealed that Yeong-sil had transferred and demoted the previous police chief 11 years ago as he did not see "what is most important".

Gu-tak asks Byeong-mu and Min-su's father to go to the police station and buy some time while the section chief gets Geon-oh out of the interrogation room. Jeong-woo gets an opportunity to talk to Byeong-mu where he reveals that he has always been envious of Jeong-woo's wealth and smarts.

Gu-tak tries to blackmail Geon-oh with Su-oh and asks him who will look after Su-oh which stops Geon-oh from confessing everything.

Black Out episode 8 concludes with Jeong-woo getting hit by a car as he tries to confront Geon-oh. Later, Gu-tak gets a call from Geon-oh who tells him that he is at Jeong-woo's warehouse, and when Gu-tak arrives, he breaks down crying.
