From Taehyung's face on a billboard to the "7" dancers — Jimin's WHO MV easter eggs
Here are four details that you might have missed in the WHO music video, which was released on July 19, 2024, at 1 PM (KST).
1) The fallen billboard
A billboard fell, with "Keep Going" and "WHO" on it. BTS ARMY quickly observed that Kim Taehyung's face was plastered across the fallen billboard. BTS' Kim Taehyung is known to make surprising cameo appearances in his members' solo projects. He made a very brief appearance in j-hope 's MORE MV as a junior artist, which was revealed in j-hope's behind-the-scenes video.
Similarly, fans wondered if the fallen billboard with Taehyung's eyes in Jimin's WHO video was a fun touch or a cryptic hint to their upcoming collaboration. A few suspected that this was a spoiler for Taehyung's upcoming solo single.
2) "The Cinema COMING SOON" label
Another scene captured a board outside a cinema theater displaying "The Cinema COMING SOON" on a black background. Astute fans speculated that Jimin might not have released all of his pre-recorded material, and the board could be another hint at his future pre-recorded release.
Earlier, j-hope and Suga released their documentary films and also their solo stage acts in cinemas in 2023. Some ARMYs suspected that Jimin might have planned the same.
3) The neon-lit sign boards
The music video displayed several neon-lit sign boards on shops and buildings such as "Closer," "BLISS," "Original Italian Pizza," and "Ryan's Clothing." Speculations went viral online as fans shared their theories that the sign boards represented each song from MUSE, such as "Closer" for Closer Than This.
However, they wondered if "BLISS" could be a hidden track in which Jimin might have collaborated with Taehyung. In November 2023, Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic replied to a fan tweet, revealing that he recorded a song for Jimin. Fans speculated whether he contributed to the track Be Mine for the album MUSE.
4) The "7" dancers
The BTS idol grooved to the song in the official WHO MV, blending in with several male and female background dancers. Fans pointed out that the artist utilized seven male dancers, including himself, to symbolize his band, BTS, although there were only six female dancers.
Previously, Taehyung's Inkigayo performance, SUGA's Haegeum performance video, and Jungkook's SEVEN performance video, among others, used the same reference. It pleased ARMY to see BTS members represent their group identity even in their solo endeavors.
In other news, the WHO singer-songwriter has been serving in the South Korean military since December 12, 2023. He will return in June 2025 alongside his bandmates Namjoon, Taehyung, Jungkook, and Suga.
