On October 28, Forbes Korea reported that BTS' Jin was voted and selected as the idol who is an ‘Icon of Patriotism.’ The Super Tuna singer received 6,203 votes, accounting for 54.75 percent of the total votes. Jin's exemplary military life was also highlighted in the recent report. The survey was carried out to commemorate the Armed Forces Day of Korea.

The voting took place for approximately 10 days from September 30 to October 9 on the Idol Champ app under the theme, “Please vote for the idol you think is the icon of patriotism.”

To mark Armed Forces Day, which is celebrated on October 1, Forbes Korea inquired of fans regarding their perceptions of the most patriotic idols and celebrities. The vote, which features numerous idols who have completed military service, highlighted the male idol members significantly.

The Idol Champ app hosted voting from September 30 to October 9 under the theme “icon of patriotism.”

The 14 candidates on the list, including BTS' Jin, are NewJeans’ Minji, DAY6’s Young K, BABYMONSTER’s Ah Hyun, BOYNEXTDOOR’s Taesan, B1A4’s CNU, SEVENTEEN’s Hoshi, Girls' Generation Seo-hyun, ARTMS’ Hee-jin, ATEEZ’ Seonghwa, WINNER’s Kang Seung-yoon, Flave Noah, Ha Sung-woon, and 2PM’s Ok Taec-yeon.

BTS' Jin became the primary personality who took the lead early on, as he received a high number of votes from the start. He joined the military on December 13, 2022, and is well-known for his outstanding performance as a special fighter and assistance. He was formally discharged on June 12, 2024.

Jin led throughout the vote and secured the top position. He received 6203 votes, representing 54.75% of the total number of votes polled. BTS' Jin was the first member of the boy band to enter the army in December 2022, serving as a boot camp helper. He later became an assistant training instructor.

He is well-known for reportedly performing acts of kindness for his coworkers during his time in the military. During a live stream after his discharge, he shared that he was awarded two division commander awards as well as seven to eight battalion commander honors, in addition to the Army Soldier Award.

On the day he was discharged from the service, he demonstrated his camaraderie by displaying rolling papers signed by his fellow soldiers. After being dismissed from the military, he served as a torchbearer at the 2024 Paris Olympics and is now making his comeback with his much awaited debut solo album HAPPY.

BTS' Jin was followed by Ha Sung-woon, who received 15.05 percent votes. Flave Noah and SEVENTEEN’s Hoshi held third and fourth spots with 10.84 and 6.04 percent, respectively. The fifth and sixth positions were taken by B1A4’s CNU and ATEEZ’s Seonghwa, respectively.

The last four spots on the list of top ten were occupied by BABYMONSTER’s Ahyeon, 2PM’s Ok Taec-yeon, DAY6’s Young K, and BOYNEXTDOOR’s Taesan, in that order.

Besides BTS' Jin, Lovely Runner's Kim Hye-yoon got the most votes in the Korean celebs list. She got 33.6 percent of the total votes, which was equivalent to 4,693 votes.


BTS’ Jin has been active in numerous more projects since the completion of his service. He became the ambassador for two luxury labels, Gucci and FRED, post-military discharge. He also hosted his variety show RUN JIN, which was released on YouTube.
