On December 17, 2024, BTS' Jimin made headlines as his track became the fastest K-pop song to surpass 1.2 billion streams on Spotify. This latest achievement comes with WHO, the title track from his second solo album, MUSE, achieving this feat within five months of its release. The album was dropped on July 19, 2024.

WHO quickly gained global traction, topping Spotify’s daily global charts for multiple weeks. Its mix of emotive lyrics and rich production resonated with listeners, propelling it to 1.2 billion Spotify streams in record time. This marked his second track from the idol's solo discography to amass over 1 billion streams.

His song Like Crazy, from his debut solo set FACE, has garnered over 1.3 billion streams as of December 17, 2024. Furthermore, the BTS idol's WHO surpassed his own bandmate and friend Jungkook's Seven in becoming the fastest K-pop song to amass 1 billion plays on a track.

BTS fans, known as ARMY, subsequently flooded social media platforms to praise the Promise singer-songwriter's skills and congratulate him for his record. One fan wrote on X:

"BTS surpassing BTS as always."

Fans further commended the Filter singer for his "pure talent."

"Wow, our Jimin is simply amazing! He truly deserves all this success and so much more because he's pure talent and emotion!" one fan wrote.
"Jimin’s out here making history while some can’t even make it to the top of the charts. Keep slaying, king," another fan added.
"Deserve it, it's the best song released this year and also the best song of this decade. We are proud of the legend Jimin," one other fan said.

Many more similar reactions to his latest achievement flooded social media.

"Song of the year," one fan wrote.
"Fastest song to reach 2B record next let's go baby Ji," another fan commented.
"While my fav gets achievements every week others fight for their lives to get into some chart. You will always be successful Park Jimin," an admirer added.

BTS' Jimin continues to break records with his latest song WHO

The success of WHO is just one part of the triumph of the BTS idol's sophomore album, MUSE. The album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The title track also topped both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global 200 (Excl. US) charts.

Jimin collaborated with a team of globally renowned songwriters and producers for MUSE, including long-time BTS producer Pdogg, Grammy-nominated artist Jon Bellion, and British production duo Arcades. Their collective efforts resulted in a cohesive album that blends pop, R&B, and electronic influences.

Featuring themes of self-discovery, emotional vulnerability, and artistic expression, MUSE was praised by both fans and critics.

Jimin's recent achievements are built on the foundation of his debut solo album, FACE, released in March 2023. Its lead single, Like Crazy, became an instant hit, topping the Billboard Hot 100 and making him the first Korean soloist to achieve this feat.

In addition to breaking streaming records, the BTS idol was recently honored at the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs), where he won in the Best K-Pop category.

In other news, BTS' Park Ji-min enlisted in the Republic of Korea Army (ROKA) on December 12, 2024. He will reportedly return on June 10, 2025, alongside bandmate Jeon Jung-kook.
