Choi Woo-sik and Jung So-min are in discussions to be cast in the upcoming SBS romantic comedy Would You Marry Me, South Korean media outlets Isplus and Sports Donga reported on December 23.
The drama will be written by Lee Ha-na, known for her work on Rookie Cops (2022), Cunning Single Lady (2014), and The Time We Were Not in Love (2015). Though much hasn't been disclosed yet, the series is reported to revolve around a newlywed couple caught in a fake marriage. If confirmed, it will air on SBS in the second half of 2025, taking over the Friday-Saturday broadcast slot.

Choi Woo-sik has reportedly been cast as the male lead in the upcoming SBS series Would You Marry Me / Marry Me in Space (literal translation). According to reports from the media outlet Isplus, the actor will play a pivotal role. As Sports Donga reported, Jung So-min has received an offer to play the female lead.
Choi Woo-sik is a Canadian actor based in South Korea. He began acting in 2011 with the drama The Outlaws and has since taken on various notable projects. He gained widespread recognition for his lead role in the 2014 film Set Me Free.
His television credits also include Deep-Rooted Tree (2011), Fight for My Way (2017), and Our Beloved Summer (2021–2022). In 2023, Choi delivered a standout performance in Netflix’s A Killer Paradox.
In films, he has appeared in hits like The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion (2018), Parasite (2019), Time to Hunt (2020), and Wonderland (2023). His performances in Train to Busan (2016) and Parasite (2019) brought him international fame. Parasite earned critical acclaim, winning the Palme d'Or at Cannes and the Academy Award for Best Picture.
Would You Marry Me is not the only project he is speculated to be involved in in 2025. Reports indicate he will also star in The Waking and Netflix’s Melo Movie, the latter of which is set to reunite him with actress Park Bo-young.
Kim Yoon-ji, professionally known as Jung So-min, made her acting debut in 2010 with a supporting role in the television series Bad Guy. Her breakout role came the same year in Playful Kiss, the Korean adaptation of the popular manga Itazura na Kiss.
Jung So-min is celebrated for her performances in various successful dramas, including My Father Is Strange and Because This Is My First Life in 2017, The Smile Has Left Your Eyes (2018), Alchemy of Souls (2022), and Love Next Door (2024). She has also showcased her talent in films like Twenty (2015) and Love Reset (2023).
In Love Next Door, she played Bae Seok-ryu, a character that resonated deeply with audiences. Her portrayal earned widespread acclaim for its authenticity and strong chemistry with co-star Jung Hae-in.
The series earned a spot on Netflix's Top 10 Non-English Series list. It recorded the highest viewership ratings, achieving double-digit viewership ratings, surpassing all other cable and general programming channels in its time slot.
