According to a report by Star News on October 18, 2024, South Korean media KBS responded to a petition filed regarding Min Hee-jin & NewJeans on its official broadcast website. Titled “Please reveal the truth about the deletion of the KBS Min Hee-jin interview report,” the petition was signed by over 2,600 netizens who demanded why the media outlet deleted an article regarding Min Hee-jin.

Netizens mentioned in the petition that the deleted KBS article originally stated that Min Hee-jin violated her contract with HYBE. They accused KBS of allegedly trying to protect the former ADOR CEO and filed a petition to republish the article.

KBS previously published a news article titled “Min Hee-jin’s side “tried to stop NewJeans’ statement”… HYBE has expressed regrets towards Min Hee-jin” on September 13, 2024.

Now deleted, this article reported NewJeans' live YouTube broadcast (September 11), where the girl group from ADOR demanded HYBE to reinstate Min Hee-jin as the ADOR CEO.

However, KBS deleted the article the same day (September 13). Meanwhile, the network responded to the petition by stating that what they reported was "factually incorrect" and "potentially misleading." KBS added that they did not interview Min Hee-jin as some netizens might believe. They, however, mentioned that they interviewed her associate.

"We would like to correct and explain the parts of the petition that are different from the facts or potentially misleading. KBS interviewed a source close to Min Hee-jin, not Min Hee-jin. After the video was released on YouTube, KBS heard from another source close to Min Hee-jin that the content was different from what was previously reported."
"After discussion among the reporting team, we decided to delete the existing article after considering the conflicting content. Considering that the positions of the people involved were different, we decided to delete the article according to the KBS News Headquarters guidelines," KBS said.

KBS added that their decision to delete the article had no connection with the petition filed. They added that they have been reporting the news since April 2024—when HYBE's feud with Min Hee-jin began—with no biases:

"KBS's deletion of the article has nothing to do with the community post in question. KBS News is reporting the content it has investigated in chronological order regarding the current incident, which began in April 2024. The part where you referred to KBS as a public relations window or PR agent for a certain person stemmed from a misunderstanding on the part of some viewers or those involved."

Min Hee-jin was appointed as the internal director of ADOR and NewJeans for 3 years

On October 17, 2024, Min Hee-jin was reappointed as ADOR's internal director aka inside director to serve another three years. The HYBE subsidiary announced during an emergency shareholders' meeting:

“Today, ADOR held an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders and reappointed former CEO Min Hee Jin as an inside director. However, the Ador board of directors discussed that the demand for the reinstatement of the CEO position is currently unacceptable.”

Previously, on August 27, 2024, ADOR fired her from the CEO position and appointed Kim Joo-young as the new CEO. Following this, NewJeans held a YouTube livestream and demanded Min Hee-jin's reappointment as the label's CEO by September 25. NewJeans stated in the livestream that they feel mistreated under the new CEO.

NewJeans' Hanni further added that she allegedly heard a manager of a different HYBE idol group instruct the idols to "ignore her." Hanni added that when she raised her concerns to Kim Joo-young, the new ADOR CEO dismissed them mentioning a lack of evidence.

Min Hee-jin then filed an injunction at the Seoul Central District Court on September 13, to call an emergency shareholders' meeting to get reappointed as the label's CEO. On September 25, an emergency meeting was held between the ADOR board of directors and NewJeans, where the board rejected NewJeans' demands.

On October 17, ADOR held a meeting with the sole agenda of whether or not to appoint Min Hee-jin as the CEO. However, with a unanimous vote, the board decided to appoint her as the internal director but refused to reappoint her as the CEO.

Meanwhile, the injunction's final hearing will be concluded by the end of October 2024 at the Seoul Central District Court. The court said that they would accept related information on the case from HYBE and Min Hee-jin until October 25.
