Dear Hyeri starring Shin Hye-sun and Lee Jin-wook aired episodes 1 and 2 on September 23 and 24 respectively on ENA. Dear Hyeri is a complicated story about Joo Eun-ho depicted by Shin Hye-sun, a veteran announcer who could not make a striking impression in her 14-year career.

On the other hand, her ex-boyfriend and colleague Jung Hyun-oh, played by Lee Jin-wook, swiftly became popular as an announcer. However, Joo Eun-ho lives a double life as Hyeri after 4 pm.

Hyeri is a happy-go-lucky girl working as a parking attendant. After she parted ways with Jung Hyun-oh, following their 8-year-long relationship and her sister mysteriously disappeared, she adopted a new personality Hyeri.

Hyeri has a crush on Kang Ju-yeon played by Kang Hoon, a rookie announcer who falls in love with Hyeri at first sight. Will Joo Eun-ho be able to find closure while going through complicated relationship dynamics and dissociative identity disorder?

In the pilot episode, Joo Eun-ho and Jung Hyun-oh became partner announcers for a morning news show. On the other hand, Hyeri looks out for her one-sided crush Kang Ju-yeon as his admirer.

Dear Hyeri episode 1 & 2 recap: Hyeri learns she is Joo Eun-ho and finds it difficult to accept

In Episode 1 of Dear Hyeri, Joo Eun-ho's team leader wanted her to join an afternoon new show. However, she profusely declined as she wanted to continue with her morning radio show. Jung Hyun-oh stepped in saying he would take her place, but the team leader wanted a female announcer to join the show.

Joo Eun-ho continued refusing to do the show while Jung Hyun-oh insisted because she wouldn't do it. After the meeting, Jung Hyun-oh and Joo Eun-ho bickered about the show and he asked her if she would do it if the show was scheduled in the morning.

But she did not respond but rather questioned his ability to make it happen. In the next scene, Joo Eun-ho and Jung Hyun-oh become co-announcers for the show as it was rescheduled to morning.

Meanwhile, Joo Eun-ho asked her subordinate Moon Ji-on (Kang Sang-joon) out on a date. Moon Ji-on was happy to see her knowing that she had not gotten over Jung Hyun-oh. They planned to meet on the weekend, but Jung Hyun-oh decided to assign Joo Eun-ho a weekend story with 14 minutes of VCR, and she could not decline.

Despite the long distance and working hours, Moon Ji-on decided to follow Joo Eun-ho for the coverage. After returning, Moon Ji-on dropped Joo Eun-ho outside her house and after confessing his true feelings, he kissed her.

Hyeri entered the scene in the second half of Dear Hyeri episode 1, as a parking attendant at the media agency where Kang Ju-yeon worked. Working as an attendant she admires Kang Ju-yeon from afar while also saving a spot for him at the parking lot. She also consults a psychiatrist as she believes that she lost most of the memories of her life.

One day Hyeri saw a lady attacking Kang Ju-yeon at the office and helped him escape the building. After saving him, she ended up kissing him but after this, she walked away as if nothing happened. Later, during Hyeri's weekly appointment with her psychiatrist, she learned she has dissociative personality disorder. The person she keeps seeing in her dream, Joo Eun-ho, is herself.

By the end of Dear Hyeri’s first episode, Jung Hyun-oh meets Joo Eun-ho outside her house. However, she acts differently and says that she isn't Joo Eun-ho.

In the second episode of Dear Hyeri, after 4 am Joo Eun-ho was back to her normal schedule and bumped into Jung Hyun-oh at work. He asked her what was the act she pulled out last night. But she did not remember anything. Moon Ji-on ignored her at work as after the kiss she said that she could not be with him, and he assumed this was because of Jung Hyun-oh again.

Later that day, Hyeri met Kang Ju-yeon who seemed offended by her kiss, and asked her if she had an explanation for it. However, Hyeri panicked, could not form words, and started crying. The next day Hyeri realized that she made a mistake and sent a gift to Kang Ju-yeon, and wrote a letter to him stating she liked him.

Later in Dear Hyeri, Kang Ju-yeon came to the cabin and told her that he was curious about her. Hyeri suggested that they should go somewhere to talk more so he took her to his house. After learning about each other, Hyeri fell asleep there. Kang Ju-yeon still doesn't know about her real identity.

The next day, Hyeri woke up as Joo Eun-ho in the morning and was confused as to why she was at Kang Ju-yeon's house. She left the place without waking him up. At work, she was assigned another weekend story. Joo Eun-ho visited a port to cover mackerel and fish but learned that she had to cover it alone without a cameraman.

As she entered the refrigerated trailer, she saw a dead man inside and someone locked it from the outside, before she could go out. She tried contacting the producer Kim Mi-yeon but she was too drunk to check her phone. As Joo Eun-ho did not have any other staff member's contact, she was about to call Jung Hyun-oh.

However, she recalled the many times when she jokingly used to ask him if he would save her in difficult situations. Jung Hyun-oh always told her that she should be independent and that he would not help her.

She hesitated a lot and decided to wait for 10 minutes before calling the police and at that moment one of the staff members came and opened the door. She saw Jung Hyun-oh coming towards her and realized it was him, as he came to get her out.

Dear Hyeri episode 2 ended with a cliffhanger where Joo Eun-ho asked Jung Hyun-oh about why he came to save her.

Dear Hyeri airs every Monday and Tuesday on ENA and later on Rakuten Viki.
