On September 15, 2024, at 9:10 p.m. KST, TV Chosun aired the tenth episode of the romantic comedy series DNA Lover. The K-drama features Jung In-sun, Choi Si-won, Lee Tae-hwan, and Jung Yoo-jin in key roles.
The story revolves around Han So-jin, a genetic researcher determined to find her "DNA Lover"—the perfect genetic match—after a string of failed relationships marred by infidelity.
Jung In-sun takes on the role of Han So-jin, a dedicated researcher at the Beneficial Gene Center, passionately committed to finding her ideal partner based on genetic compatibility. Choi Si-won plays Shim Yeon-woo, a talented obstetrician and gynecologist who works at his family’s hospital.

DNA Lover episode 10 recap: So-jin confesses her feelings to Yeon-woo
This episode of DNA Lover begins with a voice-over of Yeon-woo, saying that he always believed that love was a game of keeping his distance and winning it until he met So-jin. She makes him want to lose the game.
DNA Lover's tenth episode then cuts to Yeon-woo dropping So-jin home after they met at the Hangang Riverside in the previous episode. As he drops her, he asks if she has forgotten something, and So-jin replies, 'I love you'.
However, Yeon-woo gives her the calling button Kang-hoon gave her, before telling her she left that in his car. He is uncomfortable hearing So-jin's confession and leaves quickly. While driving back home Yeon-woo remembers about after his father left, his mother telling him not to love anyone or Yeon-woo would turn like her.
So-jin is very disturbed, rethinking her confession to Yeon-woo and his not replying. She wonders why he didn't say it back when she said 'I love you'. She finds it weird and runs around the street thinking about it.
The next morning in DNA Lover, So-jin is still wondering about the incident and talks to her colleagues about traveling abroad with Yeon-woo. She also talks about how she found the DNA match from his uniform and also made a spray to reform his cheating gene. Meanwhile, Mi-eun coming to her lab for a skin treatment overhears the conversation and wonders about it.
So-jin goes to Yeon-woo's hospital to have coffee together. While they talk, So-jin brings up Yeon-woo's phone call with his mother and asks if everything is okay with her. He immediately answers that everything is fine and doesn't discuss any further.
So-jin then says she wants to know more about Yeon-woo's family. Yeon-woo is uncomfortable hearing this and tells her that she is dating him, not his family. When she still talks about it, he leaves making an excuse.
That evening in DNA Lover, A-ri and So-jin are talking about A-ri's feelings towards the priest. In the conversation, So-jin talks about her love life. She says, that talking to Yeon-woo about her feelings is becoming hard. She is happy when she meets him but she is uneasy at the time she leaves, as she feels like she doesn't know anything about him.
The next morning, So-jin bumps into her office door, she informs him about this with a photo and tells him to inform her about everything about his day. Yeon-woo does so and asks her to go to walk around Hangang River together.
While jogging around the river, they run into Kang-hoon and Yeon-woo invites him to dinner. Going back home, Yeon-woo and So-jin prepare the meal while Kang-hoon is watching TV uncomfortably.
So-jin takes out the abalone's package Mi-eun left the other day. She opens it to take out the abalone, however finds a picture of Yeon-woo and Mi-eun inside it.
So-jin freezes looking at the picture and does not know what to do. Kang-hoon seeing her in that state comes to her and takes the picture away. He volunteers to clean the abalones and move So-jin away from there. So-jin is still in shock and keeps looking at Yeon-woo.
The dinner continues, with the TV on, where in her TV show Mi-eun is talking about a viewer's dating problem in which the man won't say I love you back. Yeon-woo sides with the man and says people can feel things and not say it out loud, whereas So-jin argues that love grows when expressed.
Kang-hoon shares his opinion that confessing is a decision of telling that the feeling won't change. Yoon-woo says to So-jin, while some things come easily to someone, for some people those challenges. This surprises So-jin she thinks that it is easy if he wants to confess.
This makes Kang-hoon remember So-jin confessing to her crush in fourth grade, and they bicker over him telling that until So-jin excuses herself to the restroom. After she is gone, Kang-hoon gives Yeon-woo the photograph of Yeon-woo and Mi-eun he hid before.
Yeon-woo is dismayed seeing it and asks Kang-hoon to throw it away. Kang-hoon listening to this expresses worries that he will throw away So-jin's memories one day too.
So-jin going back feels unhappy as before leaving, she drew a heart on the window for Yeon-woo who enacted a finger gun hand gesture to her. Watching that Kang-hoon is disturbed too. Later in that episode of DNA Lover, Yeon-woo meets Mi-eun and gives her the picture. He asks her to be careful as the picture has created a misunderstanding.
He asks why she hasn't said to Kang-hoon that she is interested in him. Mi-eun tells him that she is interested in someone else. Yeon-woo changes the topic and asks her what she thinks about Kang-hoon and So-jin.
Mi-eun tells him that So-jin and Kang-hoon's compatibility makes her wonder about destiny. She tells him, however, that she has heard that Yeon-woo is So-jin's DNA lover and also how So-jin has done that test.
The next day in DNA Lover, Yeon-woo and So-jin make a plan to go see the sunrise at the ocean. So-jin is elated for this when Mi-eun comes and asks to talk to her. She tells her that she has heard about her seeing the photo, and tells her that taking a couple-photo with Yeon-woo isn't easy.
So-jin tells her that though she is grateful that she is giving her advice, she doesn't care what type of boyfriend Yeon-woo was in his past relationships. She is going to be his only special someone. Mi-eun asks So-jin if she is insecure in the relationship as she has created a spray to change him.
She says if Yeon-woo is So-jin's DNA Lover or destined partner, he would be with her anyway. She continues to tell her that Yeon-woo is the type of person to run away when the time is critical. When they were in a relationship for three years they did not even say 'I love you' to each other.
Mi-eun tells So-jin that if Yeon-woo is his real 'DNA Lover' then he will be different with her than his other girlfriends. She says that Yeon-woo normally doesn't introduce his girlfriends to his friends, wear couple items, talk about his family, or say 'I love you'.
Though So-jin passes the former two things, the latter ones worry her more now. However, she tells Mi-eun that Yeon-woo will do those things too for her even though she isn't sure about it.
So-jin and Yeon-woo next day go to the beach. So-jin runs around and writes their name on the sand. She asks Yeon-woo to take a photo together but Yeon-woo refuses. He takes her pictures instead.
Whenever So-jin tries to take pictures together, Yeon-woo makes excuses and doesn't take it. So-jin is angry and asks how he took a picture with Mi-eun. Yeon-woo points out that he has never been jealous of So-jin's relationship with Kang-hoon, because he didn't want to intrude. So he asks why is she doing so.
Mi-eun goes to Kang-hoon's father's restaurant in the next scene of DNA Lover. She talks to Kang-hoon about So-jin and Yeon-woo going on the trip. Kang-hoon tells Mi-eun to forget about Yeon-woo as So-jin and him are happy together, even though the feelings don't go away.
On the other hand, Yeon-woo and So-jin have a good time at the beach. She sees an old couple and says she wants to be like them when old. She also talks about her family trip to the beach. She then takes Yeon-woo to a mailbox to write a postcard, which will reach them after a year. She tells him it is like a promise to the future self.
So-jin writes that even after a year she wants to see Yeon-woo only. While writing, Yeon-woo gets a phone and moves away so So-jin takes his postcard and goes to dump both of them in the mailbox. While doing that, she sees that Yeon-woo has written that after a year he wants to be with her. But if he isn't with her, he wishes that it is someone who can protect her.
So-jin is surprised to see that and asks Yeon-woo if that is how he sees their relationship which can end anytime. She tells him that she wants to trust him but he has never told her 'I love you' and is always ready to break up with her. At this moment, Yeon-woo gets a call from the hospital telling him about an emergency patient and asking him to come and they leave.
In the next scene in DNA Lover, while driving back Yeon-woo's vision gets narrowed and blind which makes him wonder if it is because he is tired. So-jin tells him that he has an RP gene that can cause vision impairments with symptoms like narrowed eye signs. He discards it but the car almost bumps into another car as Yeon-woo doesn't see it. So-jin holds his hand as he drives on.
Mi-eun is drunk sitting in Kang-hoon's father's restaurant. Kang-hoon's father asks him to take care of her and Kang-hoon covers her with a blanket. He sits down to talk to her. Mi-eun tells him that the uniform So-jin has taken the DNA sample from, to conduct the experiment, is actually Kang-hoon's. This thing Yeon-woo has told her the previous night.
Mi-eun tells Kang-hoon that this makes Kang-hoon, So-jin's 'DNA lover' and not Yeon-woo. At this point in the conversation, So-jin walks into the restaurant. The last scene of DNA Lover shows, Yeon-woo folding the jersey and keeping it in a drawer. This is where the episode of DNA Lover ends.
