On September 21, 2024, at 9:10 pm (KST), episode 11 of the romantic comedy series DNA Lover premiered on TV Chosun.
Previously in episode 10, Han So-jin learns that Sim Yeon-woo isn't her DNA lover, but Kang-hoon is. In episode 11 So-jin learns more of the lies Yeon-woo has told her and she takes a decision about their relationship.
The show stars Jung In-sun as Han So-jin, a dedicated genetic researcher on a quest to find her ideal partner, or "DNA lover," after facing a string of failed relationships due to infidelity. Choi Si-won plays Shim Yeon-woo, a talented obstetrician and gynecologist at Shim Hospital, where he is also the president's son.

DNA Lover episode 11 recap: So-jin uncovers the truth, Yeon-woo’s deception, and a tragic family incident
In episode 11 of DNA Lover, Han So-jin begins to piece things together after learning that Shim Yeon-woo is not her 'DNA lover', but Kang-hoon is. She recalls how her dog was drawn to Kang-hoon after sniffing items that carried her favorite scents.
She also remembers how he appeared before her at the Han riverside, guided by telepathy, not Yeon-woo. Despite these realizations, she still believes Yeon-woo is her ideal match and discusses her thoughts with A-ri.
So-jin visits Kang-hoon’s father’s restaurant and remembers the day she had an allergic reaction, assuming at the time it was due to Yeon-woo’s proximity to flowers. However, she now recalls that Kang-hoon had also received a flower bouquet that day.
When she asks him about the timing, she is shocked to learn that he received the bouquet around the same time her allergy was triggered, leaving her bewildered. She runs away, unsure of what to believe.
In DNA Lover episode 11, the next morning, Kang-hoon meets Mi-eun at their usual roadside stall. He confronts her about revealing that he is So-jin’s true 'DNA lover'. Surprised that she let this slip while drunk, Mi-eun suggests they build a friendship over their shared secret.
Meanwhile, So-jin plans to meet Yeon-woo, and using their supposed telepathy, he tells her to choose the meeting place. Unbeknownst to her, he sends Jung Tam to follow her and report her location.
So-jin notices Jung Tam but dismisses it as a coincidence. Her suspicion grows when she overhears Yeon-woo on the phone with Jung Tam, confirming her whereabouts. Realizing she’s been followed, So-jin calls Yeon-woo, pretending to be elsewhere.
Yeon-woo lies, claiming he’s also headed there, but his deception is unveiled when he turns to find So-jin standing behind him. Confronting him, So-jin asks if he has been using Jung Tam to fake their telepathy.
Yeon-woo admits it, apologizing and saying he only wanted to make her happy. She also questions him about the uniform. He admits it was Kang-hoon’s. Feeling betrayed, So-jin tells Yeon-woo she needs a break from the relationship and leaves.
Later in the episode of DNA Lover, Yeon-woo runs into Mi-eun at a bar. Mi-eun, thinking their meeting is a sign of telepathy, is pleased to see him. Yeon-woo shares that So-jin wants a break, and Mi-eun admits she accidentally revealed the truth about the DNA match.
Yeon-woo, however, is more concerned with his discomfort about pretending to be So-jin’s match. Mi-eun advises him to reconsider the relationship if he’s unsure about a long-term commitment, reminding him that So-jin wants a lasting bond.
The next day, So-jin is distraught and distracted by the realization that Yeon-woo is not her 'DNA lover'. Meanwhile, Kang-hoon encounters Yeon-woo and tells him that he would be happy if Yeon-woo and So-jin were together, downplaying the importance of DNA.
That day, Yeon-woo’s mother agrees to his father’s divorce request and later visits So-jin’s lab to cancel her weight-loss treatment. She shares her regrets about how her failed marriage affected her son, hoping that Yeon-woo finds someone like So-jin.
When So-jin returns home, she finds Yeon-woo waiting for her. He apologizes again, but So-jin maintains that she needs more time. She then goes to a park where she runs into Kang-hoon, who suggests that Yeon-woo’s actions stem from how much he likes her.
That evening in DNA Lover episode 11, Yeon-woo’s father visits his mother at her greenhouse, but shortly after arriving, a fire breaks out. He perishes in the flames, and Yeon-woo’s mother attempts suicide but is rescued by firefighters, though she remains unconscious. At the hospital, Yeon-woo is informed that his mother has been planning her suicide.
He arranges his father’s funeral. So-jin attends it with her colleague and recognizes Yeon-woo’s mother as her client, wondering if her recent visit was a cry for help. After the funeral, Yeon-woo texts So-jin, saying he plans to take a vacation to reset his mind, a phrase that reminds her of their last beach trip. She decides to find him there.
Upon finding him, So-jin shares what his mother told her during her visit, speculating that it may have been a plea for help. Yeon-woo reassures her that his family’s problems are not her responsibility.
Concerned for his well-being, So-jin decides to stay with him when she notices he has a fever and informs Kang-hoon, who immediately sets out to reach them.
Back at the hotel, So-jin takes care of Yeon-woo, and they talk about his family. Yeon-woo admits that seeing his mother suffer after his father left made him fear love. It's why he’s never been able to say “I love you” to So-jin, even though he deeply cares for her. They talk late into the night, holding hands as they fall asleep.
Yeon-woo wakes up from a dream about his parents and leaves a note for So-jin, thanking her and apologizing before disappearing. So-jin wakes up, reads the note, and breaks down in tears.
She steps outside, unsure of what to do next. Though tempted to call Kang-hoon, she walks forward on her own. However, she is surprised to see Kang-hoon approaching. When she tells him Yeon-woo has left, he suggests they get something to eat, as he’s hungry.
In the final scene of DNA Lover episode 11, a mysterious man is shown with photos of Yeon-woo’s family pinned to a board. The pictures of his parents are crossed out, while Yeon-woo’s photo remains uncrossed.
