On September 29, 2024, at 9:10 pm (KST), episode 14 of the romantic comedy series DNA Lover premiered on TV Chosun. The show features Jung In-sun, Choi Si-won, Lee Tae-hwan, and Jung Yoo-jin.
The story of DNA Lover follows Han So-jin, a genetic researcher at the Beneficial Gene Center. Jung In-sun plays the role of Han So-jin. After several failed relationships due to infidelity, she sets out to find her DNA Lover—her perfect genetic match.
Choi Si-won portrays Shim Yeon-woo, an obstetrician and gynecologist at Shim Hospital. He is the son of the hospital’s president.
In DNA Lover, Lee Tae-hwan plays Seo Kang-hoon, So-jin's friend and a firefighter. Jung Yoo-jin appears as Jang Mi-eun, a polyamorous romance columnist and one of Yeon-woo's former partners.

In the previous episode of DNA Lover, Kang-hoon and Yeon-woo confess their feelings for So-jin, while secrets from Father Andrea's past emerge. In episode 14, Yeon-woo prepares to move to the U.S., and Kang-hoon discovers a dangerous link between the grasstree mystery and Andrea's twin sister.
DNA Lover rpisode 14 recap: Yeon-woo's plan to move to the U.S.
Episode 14 of DNA Lover begins with Kang-hoon taking the pouch of chemicals from the grasstree planter without So-jin's knowledge. So-jin apologizes for damaging the grasstree that is supposed to be a gift from him. Kang-hoon is shocked hearing about it, but keeps the truth to himself.
As he leaves, So-jin asks for time. Kang-hoon tells her he will wait until she forgets about Yeon-woo and has only Kang-hoon in her heart. He then discards the broken plant and pot outside.
So-jin, Yeon-woo, Mi-eun and Kang-hoon reflect on their situation. So-jin and Yeon-woo think about their feelings for each other.
Meanwhile, Andrea, the priest, is upset to see the discarded plant. This triggers memories of his mother’s death in a fire, and he vows to seek revenge.
The next day, Kang-hoon discovers the chemicals can be sodium, fuel and alkali metal and they explode when they touch water. He researches the supplier of the grass tree and learns the seller's name.
At Kang-hoon’s father's restaurant, he gives So-jin a box of fire extinguishers and self-protection devices. That evening, Yeon-woo, after getting drunk, mistakenly gives his driver So-jin's address instead of his own. Realizing his error, he asks the driver to drive to his place.
However, he then sees So-jin on the road and waits for her to enter her home before leaving, reminiscing about their moments together.
In another storyline in this episode of DNA Lover, Jung Tam reveals to Song Mi that he is sterile. He promises to love her until death, but she asks for time to process this information and leaves.
Mi-eun later meets So-jin's mother and while discussing the romantic relationship between So-jin and Yeon-woo, dismisses it. She suggests that Yeon-woo’s attraction is due to So-jin's uniqueness. So-jin's mother, however, believes Yeon-woo genuinely likes her daughter.
Yeon-woo, deciding to move to the U.S., resigns from the hospital and informs Kang-hoon. He asks Kang-hoon to look after So-jin. Kang-hoon then mentions to him about the possibility that someone else caused Yeon-woo’s father's death and not his mother.
Yeon-woo meets Mi-eun in the restaurant they met for the first time. The two reminisce about their first meet. Yeon-woo tells Mi-eun about him moving to US and that him giving up on So-jin is his way of showing his love for her. Mi-eun offers to go with him and confesses her love for him. However Yeon-woo turns her down and expresses a desire to remain just friends.
Heartbroken, Mi-eun cries in the rain on her way home. Seeing her without an umbrella, Kang-hoon offers her shelter under his. They tease each other about her drinking habits as he walks her home.
Meanwhile in this episode of DNA Lover, Andrea stalks So-jin but retreats when he sees Kang-hoon join her. Kang-hoon, on the other hand, is deep in thought about Yeon-woo’s impending move.
Kang-hoon visits Yeon-woo on his last day at the hospital. He shares information about the grass tree incident. As they talk, a grass tree is delivered to Yeon-woo’s office, alarming both men.
So-jin learns from her boss about Yeon-woo moving to the U.S. She rushes to see him, but he is out meeting the director of the orphanage.
Jung Tam tells So-jin that Yeon-woo has left the hospital. He also suggests she is special to Yeon-woo as he hasn't seen him like this in so many years of knowing him.
Meanwhile, Kang-hoon investigates the plantation linked to the grass trees. He recognizes Andrea in a photo and finds the chemicals. He sees a pinboard filled with images of Yeon-woo, So-jin, and himself. Rushing out, he tries to call So-jin, but she doesn’t answer.
Yeon-woo goes to the orphanage to learn more about Andrea. He obtains Andrea's admission file. Inside, he discovers shocking information: Andrea has a twin sister. This sister was adopted by Yeon-woo's father's former mistress.
She had previously met Yeon-woo. This twin sister is responsible for the serial arson cases, and she has also been to Yeon-woo's hospital.
This sister delivers a grass tree to Kang-hoon’s father's restaurant in the next scene of DNA Lover. Kang-hoon arrives just in time to destroy the planter and retrieve the chemicals. He rushes after her but loses her.
At the church, after the mass, Kang-hoon confronts Andrea. But A-ri is there and tries to intervene, claiming Andrea was with her all day.
As she tells Kang-hoon this, Andrea breaks down in pain, and he warns them about another fire incident. He fears someone could get killed again.
Meanwhile as So-jin heads home, she notices the twinkling lights Kang-hoon has hung have been torn down. At that moment, Andrea's twin attacks her, rendering her unconscious.
In the last scene of episode 14 of DNA Lover, Yeon-woo receives a message from Han So-jin's phone. The message is from Andrea's twin. She accuses him of being the thief who stole her happiness. She warns him that she will take away everything from him.
This is where episode 14 of DNA Lover concludes.
