The third episode of the romantic comedy series DNA Lover, starring Jung In-sun, Choi Si-won, Lee Tae-hwan, and Jung Yoo-jin, premiered on TV Chosun at 9:10 pm (KST) on August 18, 2024. The series follows the journey of a genetic researcher who embarks on a quest to find a genetically compatible partner after unsuccessful relationships with unfaithful partners.
Han So-jin, played by Jung In-sun, is a researcher at the Beneficial Gene Center who is determined to find the perfect 'genetic match' she calls DNA Lover. Meanwhile, Shim Yeon-woo, played by Choi Si-won, is a highly accomplished obstetrician and gynecologist at Shim Hospital. He is the son of the hospital president and Lee Tae-hwan portrays So-jin's friend Seo Kang-hoon, a firefighter.
Jung Yoo-jin is also in the drama DNA Lover, she plays Jang Mi-eun, a polyamorous romance columnist and also one of Yeon-woo's ex-girlfriends.

DNA Lover episode 3 recap:
The third episode of DNA Lover begins with Han So-jin rescuing the woman jumping from the roof. She remembers her father dying and jumps to rescue that woman. However, incidentally, she ends up falling herself, taking Yeon-woo who is trying to help her, with her.
However, as the rescue team of Kang-hoon by this time has arrived and placed a mat on the ground, they fall on the mat. After They get rescued Yeon-woo runs to check on the woman who tried to commit suicide. Kang-hoon scolds So-jin for being reckless however she cannot shake away the smell she smelt from Yeon-woo.
Later, Kang-hoon finds So-jin drinking alone her father's favorite liqueur. She tells him that she knew that her father was unhappy, but she hated him for having an affair, so she pretended like, she did not know. Kang-hoon recounts So-jin crying when her father was in the ambulance, she asked him to bring her father back even for a moment so she could tell him how much she loved him. Kang-hoon tells her to find a man who will make her happy as he wants her to be happy.
As they go to sleep, both Yeon-woo and So-jin remember the incident. They keep thinking about how the other one tried to rescue that woman. The next morning, So-jin talks to her colleague A-ri about Yeon-woo's smell. While talking to her, So-jin decides to collect his sweat still his natural scent.
Later, Yeon-woo calls Kang-hoon to come play basketball ball with them. Kang-hoon, as he is helping his father, declines the offer. However, So-jin, who is near and hears the conversation, convinces him to go. She goes with him to collect Yeon-woo's sweat. During the match, So-jin supports the team and after, steals Yeon-woo's jersey. Yeon-woo sees her stealing and is confused.
So-jin goes to her lab and makes a scent from the sweat she collects from the jersey. She likes the smell and thinks his pheromone smells like paradise. She has decided that because she likes the smell of his pheromones, he's her DNA Lover. She wonders to test whether he has cheating DNA or not.
Yeon-woo goes to visit Mi-eun's mother's art exhibition. However, he finds out that the artist is not her real, mother, but someone she admires and so calls her mother. The artist tells Yeon-woo that her children and husband were her barrier. Mi-eun tells Yeon-woo that the artist's husband died, she has two daughters but probably she has cut ties with them.
Later, Yeon-woo thinks about So-jin. He tells Mi-eun about her and that maybe he likes her. He says he is feeling like this for the first time. The next day in between patients, he wonders whether to call her or message her or not. Yeon-woo asks Kang-hoon and So-jin to have dinner with him and his basketball team.
At the dinner, she discusses with them about cheating genes. Yeon-woo tells her that she must know whether he has it or not as she has tested his DNA. But, she denies, telling him she did not test him for that as she doesn't test people for her personal curiosity. He reminds her about her taking his jersey. She gets choked on food and Yeon-woo rescues her from that.
Outside the restaurant, he sees her sitting alone and asks her to give his jersey back. He asks why she has stolen it. She replies with honesty, that she liked his smell while falling from the Hospital's roof, and she wanted to know more. So she stole his jersey and liked the smell of his pheromones. He asks her if she is now confessing her love. So-jin taken aback, denies quickly.
At this moment, Kang-hoon, who has been listening to them, comes running and tells So-jin that they should now return. Yeon-woo offers So-jin a lift but Kang-hoon tells him, that as he stays near her he is going to take her home.
The next morning, while having Korean fishcakes with a colleague Kang-hoon sees smoke coming out of a building. They run inside and rescue the residents including Mi-eun who cannot hear the fire alarm because the machine has a wire cut in her flat. Anyhow, Kang-hoon rescues her too.
So-jin goes to Yeon-woo to give him his antidote for the abnormal hair growth. She asks him what type of smell of a woman he likes and how she smells to him. He asks her to come closer so he can smell her. She obliges but before he can do so, she remembers the consent form she has brought with her to test his DNA further.
She tells him that all her ex-boyfriends who cheated on her had the cheating gene, so she wants to know if Yeon-woo also has it. To this, he refuses and asks if this is how she tells someone that she is interested. He says then he refuses because this is not how a man and a woman get to know each other.
Yeon-woo goes to Kang-hoon's father's restaurant to get a drink. In the restaurant, So-jin comes with her sister So-ri and their mother, who is an artist from before. They start bickering about So-jin and So-ri 's father. So-ri accuses So-jin about their father's death.
Their mother accuses their father of their depression. However, So-jin accuses her mother who has said that she did not want to give birth to her, but was forced to - for it. She said they are survivors of suicide and accomplices in doing that to their father but she has wanted today at least for one hour for their family to be like a family. Saying this she leaves the restaurant.
The sound of bickering gets everyone in the restaurant's attention including Yeon-woo's. He comes out behind So-jin to find her crying. She sees him and quickly escapes from there.
Then he later finds her, drinking alone and gives her ice cream. She asks if he has heard her. Yeon-woo, tells her that she must like her father. She says yes but her father loved their mother. However, loving someone does not mean that they are fated for each other. If you love someone alone, that's painful.
She says more, that even though her research about DNA lovers seems funny, she believes in it and also believes that finding that one perfect partner is necessary to stay alive.
Yeon-woo listening to her till now, finds her beautiful at the moment. He asks her if she is still interested in his DNA and gives consent to her for the test. In the lab So-jin tests Yeon-woo's DNA sample from his jersey and finds out he has the highest level of cheater gene, that too seven of them.
However, the last scene discloses that there was another jersey with the number 7, the same as Yeon-woo.
