The sixth episode of the romantic comedy series DNA Lover, starring Jung In-sun, Choi Si-won, Lee Tae-hwan, and Jung Yoo-jin, premiered on TV Chosun at 9:10 pm (KST) on September 1, 2024.
DNA Lover chronicles the journey of a genetic researcher who embarks on a mission to identify a genetically compatible partner, having experienced a series of unsuccessful relationships due to infidelity.
In the previous episode, So-jin tries to have a telepathic connection with Yeon-woo but fails. In this episode, Yeon-woo makes that coincidence happen because she wants to have a telepathic connection with her destined partner.
Jung In-sun portrays the character of Han So-jin, a researcher at the Beneficial Gene Center who is dedicated to discovering the ideal 'genetic match' she refers to as DNA Lover. Choi Si-won plays the role of Shim Yeon-woo, a highly skilled obstetrician and gynecologist at Shim Hospital. He is the son of the hospital president for whom he works.

Additionally, Lee Tae-hwan plays So-jin's friend Seo Kang-hoon, a firefighter. Jung Yoo-jin also appears in the drama DNA Lover, where she plays Jang Mi-eun, a polyamorous romance columnist and one of Yeon-woo's former girlfriends.

The sixth episode of DNA Lover begins with Mi-eun returning from a gathering going to Mount Namsan Tower where Yeon-woo is waiting for So-jin. Kang-hoon while jogging around runs into So-jin, who is waiting for Yeon-woo.
So-jin thinks it weird that Kang-hoon is there and she yells at him for that. Mi-eun on the other hand asks Yeon-woo to get a drink which he refuses. So-jin and Kang-hoon end up saving an old woman from an electric scooter accident and Kang-hoon gets hurt in the process. So-jin takes care of him. At that moment he smells her hair and says it smells nice.
Next in DNA Lover episode 6, Yeon-woo goes home to meet his auntie and hears her talking to his mother about his father. While returning home, he sees a snack room named Han River. He takes a picture standing in front of that shop and sends it to So-jin. However, because of a network problem, it doesn't go to her.
So-jin on the other hand, is disturbed about not being able to send telepathy to Yeon-woo. He talks to A-ri about that. The next day in her lab too she thinks about. At this moment Yeon-woo's picture in front of the Han River snack room is delivered to her phone.
Elated she declares her telepath has worked it just has worked differently because of someone's strong interference. She wonders about that person. So-jin calls Yeon-woo and asks to talk seriously. He suggests meeting somewhere, however, she tells him that she is busy that day and weekend too. He asks her about Sunday, but before she can answer her boss calls her.
Yeon-woo and Mi-eun go to a gathering where a man insults her polyamorous lifestyle and asks about her childhood trauma that has led her to this. Yeon-woo by spilling on the man's dress, creates an opportunity for Mi-eun to escape. Later in the episode, they go to a bar and talk about it.
She asks how he feels about her being polyamorous. He tells her he does not care about her lifestyle as a polyamorous, he just looks forward to the time they spend together. The two then talk about their relationship and why they have broken up due to ghosting.
The next morning in DNA Lover episode 6, Yeon-woo's mother comes to tell him about her anti-aging treatment and that she has a lot of plans. Jung-tam goes to meet Song-mi in the next scene of the episode. However, Kang-hoon runs into him and asks about Yeon-woo.
Tam tells him Yeon-woo is busy planning something to woo So-jin, making Kang-hoon wonder. Soon Song-mi arrives and Jung-tam asks her to lunch. Yeon-woo calls So-jin and asks her to go see a celestial show where they can see five planets with bare eyes, together the next night. Elated and excited she agrees instantly.
In the next scene in the episode, Mi-eun runs into Kang-hoon at a roadside Korean fishcake shop. She tells him she has changed her office's sprinkler and added three locks to the door as she wants to live safely now.
Kang-hoon is pleased to hear that. At the moment she sees in the group chat everyone speculating about Yeon-woo spending time with his girlfriend as he is not coming to a group plan.
This makes Mi-eun a bit sad and she walks out of the shop after paying for her and Kang-hoon's food. She remembers Yeon-woo talking about liking their comfortable distance. She is thinking about that when Kang-hoon runs to her with the go-to food she has ordered and left without. That act makes her smile.
Yeon-woo is busy making arrangements for his camping for the celestial show. So-jin calls Kang-hoon and asks him to take her dog out for a walk as she can't because of the celestial show. He asks who she is going with and is not happy hearing it is with Yeon-woo.
Kang-hoon remembers his senior saying these camping tents are as fine as a hotel with a sofa, bed, and wine storage. He also remembers Jung-tam's words and he runs out to go to the camping site.
Then in the episode, So-jin and Yeon-woo go to the camping place. Yeon-woo's friends including Mi-eun are there too. Mi-eun sees Kang-hoon wandering around, looking here and there, and follows him. Kang-hoon reaches Yeon-woo and So-jin just the moment Yeon-woo is about to feed So-jin.
Kang-hoon tells them he has come because So-jin has said so many things about this show to him. Yeon-woo is bewildered and against Kang-hoon joining them. So-jin thinks he is joking and makes Kang-hoon sit with them.
The two men soon begin fighting about keeping So-jin warm. However, both take away what the other gives her to stay warm, leaving her in the cold. They fight about Yeon-woo feeding So-jin and Kang-hoon eats everything Yeon-woo feeds. Irritated So-jin leaves the tent. Meanwhile, Mi-eun is lost in the forest.
Yeon-woo asks Kang-hoon why he is doing this much to keep him and So-jin separated. Kang-hoon says So-jin needs to meet a good man who isn't him. Yeon-woo is surprised and thinks it is a bit too far for someone who calls her family but isn't. Kang-hoon tells him that if he had his own sisters he would never let them date him.
Soon, Kang-hoon gets a phone from his coworkers about an emergency, and he runs after asking Yeon-woo to take good care of So-jin. In DNA Lover episode 6, Lost Mi-eun sees a light coming from afar and walks towards that.
Yeon-woo and So-jin then sit back and watch planets through a telescope. Yeon-woo tells her that even if she thinks Lo is hot because of the volcanic eruption, the truth is it's cold because it doesn't get sunlight.
So-jin wonders then maybe Lo's DNA lover isn't Jupiter but the Sun. Yeon-woo gives her the old MP3 that he had taken that day. They listen to the song in it together.
Yeon-woo asks why telepathy is so important to her. She replies that if she can communicate with her partner with telepathy, she will be able to feel that person's pain at his worst moment. Yeon-woo asks that now that they are listening to this song together, it makes him her destined partner.
Right this moment in DNA Lover, Mi-eun walks up to them and wonders how she runs into him now just like the day at Mount Nam. Mi-eun and So-jin meet. Mi-eun finds So-jin cute and So-jin is charmed by her beauty and the fact that she is a famous dating columnist. The next moment So-jin is surprised learning Mi-eun is Yeon-woo's ex-girlfriend.
Yeon-woo is awkward but So-jin asks if they want some fruit and leaves to wash them. She wonders if it is because Mi-eun, Yeon-woo couldn't meet her at Han Riverside.
Kang-hoon and his team meanwhile have extinguished the fire at Yeon-woo's father's mistress's apartment. The firefighter team wonders if the reason behind the fire is the mistress having the child of a married man.
The next morning in DNA Lover episode 6, at work Yeon-woo remembers about So-jin's words. He asks questions in Mi-eun's dating advice live, about dating a nerd. He is determined to make telepathy happen even if it doesn't happen by coincidence.
So-jin is stalking Mi-eun on social media and is surprised to find Mi-eun's photo with So-jin's mother. Soon she remembers meeting a client in Yeon-woo's clinic and goes there. Meeting her in the clinic, Yeon-woo tells her that he is going to experiment with telepathy again. And if that comes out successful, they will go out on a date.
Yeon-woo then puts Jung-tam behind So-jin to tell him where she is going. So that he can make a coincidence happen. However, Jung-tam's wallet gets stolen and he runs behind the thief and loses So-jin. Running behind the thief as he screams, Song-mi comes to his rescue and gets the wallet from the thief by punching him down.
However, in DNA Lover episode 6, Yeon-woo is left confused about where So-jin is going and tries finally to apply telepathy. He hears a child in a car beside his car singing Baby Shark, he also smells fish. He decides that So-jin has gone to the aquarium even though he finds that possibility unbelievable.
In the aquarium, however, he can't find her but gets a call from her. Listening to her background voices he realizes that she is not in the aquarium but at an art gallery and runs out to go there. Then the episode reveals that Mi-eun is in the aquarium, thinking back to the day she met Yeon-woo, both heartbroken.
In the next scene of DNA Lover episode 6, the administrator of the art gallery tells So-jin that they are closing. So, So-jin comes out of the gallery, sad. She listens to a couple talking about meeting in that gallery and wonders that seriously she and Yeon-woo can't communicate telepathically.
In the last scene of DNA Lover, sad, she is walking away when Yeon-woo comes running, calling her name. So-jin is beyond elated to finally be able to talk through telepathy. Yeon-woo calls it creating their destiny and asks her to get food together. Happy that he finally has talked about destiny, she obliges smilingly and the sixth episode ends.
