Dreaming of a Freaking Fairy Tale starring Pyo Ye-jin and Lee Jun-young wrapped up the final episodes 9&10 on Friday, June 28 on TVING. The show follows the story of a poor girl Shin Jae-rim and an eighth-generation chaebol Moon Cha-min, who are opposite in personalities but eventually fall in love with each other.

Pyo Ye-jin played Shin Jae-rim in Dreaming of a Freaking Fairy Tale, a woman who wishes to become Cinderella and wants to be saved by her Prince Charming who will help her escape her poor life. On the other hand, Moon Cha-min portrayed by Lee Jun-young, comes from a wealthy family and is the CEO of a social club Cheongdam Heaven.

In Dreaming of a Freaking Fairy Tale, Moon Cha-min, and Shin Jae-rim's lives get entangled with each other as Shin Jae-rim starts working as a manager at Cheongdam Heaven to find her Prince.

Dreaming of a Freaking Fairy Tale ending explained: Lee Jun-young found love while Pyo Ye-jin accepts the new beginning

In Episode 9 of Dreaming of a Freaking Fairy Tale, with Shin Jae-rim's help Moon Cha-min gave his mother another chance to explain herself for abandoning him during his childhood. After the misunderstanding between the mother and the son was cleared, Moon Cha-min asked Shin Jae-rim to hug her.

As the two got closer to each other and were about to open up about their feelings, things got complicated. Moon Cha-min’s fiancée Ban Dan-a (Song Ji-woo) was not happy that he was going to ask Shin Jae-rim out.

Moon Cha-min and Ban Dan-a had an engagement for convenience as previously they wished to live their separate lives. However, Ban Dan-a developed feelings for Moon Cha-min.

She threatened that if he ditched her for Jae-rim she would do whatever it took to ruin her life. Further asking Moon Cha-min to marry her if he wanted to see Shin Jae-rim safe.

Ban Dan-a declared her marriage plans to Moon Cha-min holding his hands at Cheongdam Heaven, in front of all the employees and Shin Jae-rim. This left Shin Jae-rim heartbroken as she believed that Moon Cha-min was finally going to open up to her.

On the other hand, Baek Do-hong (Kim Hyun-jin) offered Shin Jae-rim to fly to Berlin with him and start a new career as an artist. Following that, Cheongdam Heaven was closed temporarily, creating curiosity in Shin Jae-rim’s mind while other employees were excited to enjoy their paid leaves.

Shin Jae-rim visited Moon Cha-min to his house, to learn what happened with the club and found out that he had been beaten up. Shin Jae-rim wanted to confess her feelings, however, Lee Jun-young disrespected her with his rude words while calling himself a player who had been toying with her feelings.

Later in Episode 9 of Dreaming of a Freaking Fairy Tale, it was revealed that Ban Dan-a's father and his gangsters demolished the club as Moon Cha-min rejected getting married to Ban Dan-a. They beat up Moon Cha-min leaving a scar on his face.

Moon Cha-min’s father was not happy with what happened with the club and Ban Dan-a as he believed that a marriage of convenience was best for him and true love did not exist. Moreover, he removed him from the position of CEO and cut ties with him. Moon Cha-min's father stated that she (Shin Jae-rim) would not accept him if he was not a chaebol.

In Episode 10 of Dreaming of a Freaking Fairy Tale, Shin Jae-rim passed the offer given by Baek Do-hong. As she left his studio she ended up reaching Cheongdam Heaven. As she entered the club she witnessed that everything was destroyed.

There, she met Moon Cha-min who had come to take back the ring he bought for his proposal to Shin Jae-rim. They finally expressed their feelings to each other, when Shin Jae-rim said that she liked him even if he had nothing. She seeming found self-love due to the comforting words of Moon Cha-min.

She started to treasure herself which was the real reason behind her wish to find a Prince Charming: to receive love. Moon Cha-min had been holding back his true feelings due to his past, however, he finally reciprocated her confession with a kiss.

Possibilities of Dreaming of Freaking Fairy Tale season 2 explored

Later in the final episode 10 of Dreaming of a Freaking Fairy Tale, Moon Cha-min visited his father to tell him that love does exist and that he does not want anything from his father even if it meant losing his social club.

Moon Cha-min also showcased his love for his father despite being disowned by him. Soon after, Moon Cha-min's parents reconciled after years and that was when his father asked him to come back to restart Cheongdam Heaven.

However, Moon Cha-min decided to start a new business in the vibrant neighborhood of Seongsu and decided to not receive help from his father. Meanwhile, Shin Jae-rim who wished to become an artist as a child had shared her work with Baek Do-hong.

She received a call from a production house to create a short animation film with her scenario, which they found in Baek Do-hong’s script collection. Shin Jae-rim believed she was lucky to receive such an opportunity but acted nonchalantly and finally accepted the offer.

Dreaming of a Freaking Fairy Tale gave closure to both Shin Jae-rim and Moon Cha-min's love story while they witnessed personal growth as well. The possibilities of a second season seem to be very low as the show ended on a happy note.
