Face Me episode 11 & 12 recap: Jeong-woo’s confrontation with Woo-jin, truths unraveled, and a new beginning

The penultimate episode of Face Me begins with Han Woo-jin following Hyo-ju down a staircase to a closet where she hides. Cha Jeong-woo, noticing Woo-jin, follows him.

As he descends, Jeong-woo recalls seeing Woo-jin at his fiancée's house on the day she died. He remembers chasing him, leading to his own near-fatal accident by the truck. The memory leaves him frozen in place.

Woo-jin, unaware of Jeong-woo, is about to open the closet door when a security guard interrupts, asking if everything is alright. Meanwhile, Kim Seok-hoon searches Hyo-ju's room but only finds her phone.

He calls Woo-jin upstairs, reminding him about a surgery and Woo-jin leaves to attend it.

Jeong-woo finds Hyo-ju in the closet, clutching a drawing of Woo-jin's eyes—her memory of her attacker. She questions how a doctor could do such a thing. Jeong-woo quickly takes her to the police.

Hyo-ju gives her statement, identifying Woo-jin as her attacker. Lee Min-hyung takes her team, led by Kang-ho, to arrest Woo-jin as soon as the DNA results confirm his guilt.

Kim Seok-hoon discovers Woo-jin has lied about being in Singapore on the day of Jeong-woo's fiancée’s death. Suspecting him further, Seok-hoon cancels all Woo-jin's surgeries.

Woo-jin confronts him, demanding an explanation. Seok-hoon accuses Woo-jin of jealousy towards Jeong-woo, but Woo-jin deflects, claiming he’s nothing without his surgeries.

Jeong-woo arrives at the hospital and spots Seok-hoon with a bandaged head. Shocked, he rushes out behind Woo-jin. Min-hyung gets confirmation that Woo-jin's DNA matches the attacker. She orders Kang-ho to arrest him, but Woo-jin has fled from the hospital by then.

Yun Seo-hui, Jeong-woo's mother, visits Seok-hoon. He asks if she knows more about Jeong-woo’s fiancée’s death. She denies it.

Meanwhile, Woo-jin retrieves his belongings from a fencing range he and Jeong-woo used to practice at. He recalls killing Nam Gil-taek, out of jealousy and rage towards Jeong-woo’s success as a great doctor and seemingly having it all.

Ariving at the fencing range, Jeong-woo confronts Woo-jin. Woo-jin initially calls the murder an accident. When pressed, he reveals Yun Seo-hui hated Jeong-woo’s fiancée and was involved in her death. He accuses Jeong-woo of being blind to his mother’s actions.

Woo-jin taunts Jeong-woo with photographs of his mother hiring a private investigator. Jeong-woo, torn, recalls overhearing his mother express hatred toward his fiancée. Woo-jin takes this opportunity and runs away from there as well.

Min-hyung arrives at the range and warns him not to act recklessly. Jeong-woo dismissing her leaves. He visits Park Chae-gyeong to review his fiancée’s postmortem photos. The injuries suggest she was strangled to death before being stabbed.

Meanwhile in this episode of Face Me , Woo-jin creates a diversion by sending a driver in his car, misleading Kang-ho. He kidnaps Yun Seo-hui and takes her to their cosmetic surgical hospital after everyone is gone.

He ties her to an operating table, accusing her of ruining his life. Yun Seo-hui pleads with him, calling him her son, but Woo-jin’s rage escalates.

Jeong-woo arrives and confronts Woo-jin. Woo-jin claims he tried to save Jeong-woo’s fiancée from Yun Seo-hui’s plans. He admits that he went to save her that day but became desperate while explaining himself.

In his frustration, he grabbed her and shook her, trying to make her understand his point. She struggled to free herself and slipped, hitting her head on a nearby table. She lost consciousness briefly but woke up and immediately called Jeong-woo.

Seeing her call him, Woo-jin panicked. He snatched the phone away from her and, overcome with rage, began strangling her.

Enraged by listening this, Jeong-woo attacks him. During the scuffle, Jeong-woo notices trail of blood, leading to his injured mother. Seeing her lying in a pool of blood, Jeong-woo remembers unmasking Woo-jin as the killer on the night of his fiancée’s death.

Woo-jin taunts him further, provoking Jeong-woo to grab a knife and attack him. Min-hyung arrives and witnesses Jeong-woo holding the knife to Woo-jin’s throat.

She fires a warning shot, asking Jeong-woo to disarm, but Woo-jin pushes the knife into his own throat. This is where episode 11 of Face Me ends.

The final episode of Face Me flashes back to Yun Seo-hui pleading with Woo-jin to stop. Woo-jin declares he will make Jeong-woo a murderer like himself and pours blood over her, rendering her unconscious.

As Jeong-woo attacks Woo-jin, memories of his fiancée’s and Hyo-ju's words about doctors saving lives flash in his mind. He tries to stops himself and after Woo-jin pushes the knife, he saves Woo-jin with Min-hyung’s help.

After being treated by Jeong-woo, Woo-jin is arrested. The hospital temporarily suspends services. Yun Seo-hui decides to close her clinic and move abroad to help others.

Jeong-woo visits Woo-jin in jail, confronting him with evidence that his fiancée was strangled after the fall. He accuses Woo-jin of projecting his inferiority complex and hatred for Jeong-woo onto her. Woo-jin, enraged, punches the glass divider.

Lee Jin-seok, wrongly accused of the murder, is exonerated after new evidence proves Woo-jin’s guilt. Jeong-woo apologizes sincerely to Jin-seok for his past actions.

Woo-jin, tormented by guilt, starts hallucinating in his cell. He screams, accusing others of his crimes, until guards restrain him.

Min-hyung and Kang-ho are promoted for solving the case. Min-hyung visits Jeong-woo's fiancée at the columbarium. There, she unexpectedly runs into Jeong-woo.

When asked, she explains that she has visited his fiancée several times over the years. She felt it was her way of apologizing—as the family member of the perpetrator and as a police officer who failed to protect a citizen.

Later, they sit down for coffee and talk about everything that has happened. Min-hyung remarks that, despite the tragedy, one good thing emerged—Jeong-woo becoming a plastic surgeon and helping so many crime victims rebuild their lives.

Her words make Jeong-woo smile, surprising her. She tells him that seeing him smile and live like before is something she has always wished for. She adds that the best way to honor a loved one who has passed is to keep living fully.

They also discuss Jin-seok, who has returned to his studies after being declared innocent. Before parting ways, Jeong-woo sincerely thanks Min-hyung for trusting him and for staying committed to uncovering the truth and catching the real killer.

Jeong-woo reconciles with his mother as he takes her to the airport as she leaves the country. He assures her she acted in his best interest and asks her to return soon.

Later in the final episode of Face Me, Kim Seok-hoon expands the hospital to include trauma surgery, inspired by Jeong-woo’s work with crime victims. Jeong-woo becomes empathetic and dedicated as he heals his patients.

At the penalty met scene of the final episode of Face Me , Jeong-woo asks Min-hyung to meet him one afternoon. When he arrives, she is surprised to see him holding flowers.

However, the flowers are for one of their former trauma patients, now showcasing their work in a joint art exhibition.

They visit the exhibition together, and at Min-hyung’s suggestion, Jeong-woo purchases a piece created by the patient, symbolizing their journey of healing.

In the last scene of Face Me , Jeong-woo and Min-hyung take a walk and talk about life and the work at KST Hospital. During the conversation, Jeong-woo suddenly asks if she is more interested in the hospital or in him.

Caught off guard, Min-hyung tries to dismiss the question and walks ahead quickly. Jeong-woo follows her and teases her further. He then suggests they grab drinks to celebrate her recent promotion. Min-hyung agrees enthusiastically.

The scene last ends with the two walking off together, marking the conclusion of the final episode of Face Me.

Face Me ends with a conclusive ending with no prospects for a season 2 continuation

A season 2 of Face Me seems unlikely. The final episode of the series provides a clear conclusion to the main storyline, resolving the mystery of Jeong-woo's fiancée's death and Woo-jin's downfall.

Jeong-woo finds peace and purpose in his work and relationships while Min-hyung also reunites with her family clearing misconceptions. With the characters' arcs fully wrapped up, there is little room for further development for a season 2.

Moreover, there has been no official confirmation of a season 2. Neither the production team, actors, nor director of Face Me have made any statements regarding a continuation of the series.

All episodes of Face Me are also available for streaming on Viki in certain regions.
