Fack check: Was BLACKPINK's Lisa’s first look from The White Lotus Season 3 released? Viral post debunked

On August 8th, several social media outlets shared a photo, calling it the first look teaser for BLACKPINK’s Lisa in The White Lotus Season 3. This post soon went viral, garnering significant attention from BLACKPINK’s Lisa’s fans and other internet users.

In reality, this widely shared post is nothing more than a Photoshopped image with Lisa's name. It isn't even a sneak peek at Season 3 of The White Lotus; it's a screenshot from Season 2.

Many of Lisa’s fans immediately realized that it wasn’t her, while there were still some who confused the girl in the screenshot with the K-pop idol.

The screenshot belongs to "Ciao" (Episode 1) of Season 2 of The White Lotus, not the third season's first look. The lady in the viral post is not BLACKPINK’s Lisa but Aubrey Plaza, who played the role of Harper Spiller in the second season.

Though the details of the forthcoming The White Lotus Season 3 are unclear, its release is to happen in the first months of 2025. The BLACKPINK rapper is about to make her Hollywood acting debut with this anthology series.

Currently, the filming of the Season 3 is underway in Thailand, adding a new scenic backdrop to the show. BLACKPINK’s Lisa, aka LaLisa Manobal, is going to make her Hollywood acting debut in her home country. The 27-year-old rapper was born in Buri Ram Province, Thailand.

Most recently, on August 5, HBO Max shared a sneak peek at The White Lotus Season 3, featuring some glimpses of Thailand. The island province of Phuket and Surat Thani's Koh Samui serve as the backdrops for the series. Muay Thai, sometimes called "Thai boxing," is also shown in the brief preview.

Besides Lisa, stars like Natasha Rothwell, Leslie Bibb, Dom Hetrakul, Arnas Fedaravičius, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Shalini Peiris, Parker Posey, Scott Glenn, Tayme Thapthimthong, Carrie Coon, Morgana O’Reilly, Francesca Corney, Lek Patravadi, Walton Goggins, Sarah Catherine Hook, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Aimee Lou Wood, Nicholas Duvernay, and Julian Kostov, will be part of season 3.

The show's creator, Mike White, indicated a shift in themes for the third season, emphasizing Eastern spirituality in the new season. The first and second seasons of the show were set in Hawaii and Sicily, respectively.

The White Lotus originally premiered on HBO in 2021. Following this, the second season came out in December 2022.
