A survey was conducted by Gallup Korea from August 19 to 23, commissioned by Star News, to ascertain the most popular musicians and songs of the 21st century. The survey garnered an overwhelming 74% of the votes in favor of BTS.

A nationwide survey was conducted with 1,052 male and female participants between the ages of 19 and 69. Among the 74% of respondents who voted for BTS, the gender distribution was evenly split, with 74% of both male and female voters.

BTS received a substantial proportion of votes across various age groups, including 19-29 year olds (67%), those in their thirties (66%), forties (76%), fifties (83%), and sixties (74%).

The Gallup Korea survey, which analyzes the entertainment industry since the 2000s, presented 20 candidates for each field by synthesizing relevant major charts and award history, influence during online and offline activities, and opinions of reporters in related fields.

The respondents were requested to select "the most-favored boy band of the 21st century" from a provided list of 20 multiple-choice options, with the allowance of choosing up to two responses. Additionally, participants were given the opportunity to freely write in the 'Other' section for individuals not included in the provided list.

Subsequent to BTS, the boy group BIGBANG secured the second position by garnering 33% of the votes. Notably, BIGBANG, which made its debut in 2006, has not actively engaged in music promotion since the release of their latest song titled Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter in April 2022.

The third position was secured by Super Junior, garnering 15% of the total votes. Subsequently, the fourth to tenth positions were occupied by TVXQ (14%), EXO (13%), Seventeen (8%), SHINee (7%), 2PM (5%), NCT (4%), and Wanna One (4%), respectively.

Currently, all the members of BTS are serving their mandatory military service as South Korean citizens with just one member out. Jin the the oldest member who went to the military first was released in the month of July and another member J-Hope is coming back in October.

The band is reported to reunite in the year 2025.
