K-pop superstar G-Dragon and comedian Jung Hyung-don are set to reunite in GD and Friends, a new reality show helmed by renowned producer Kim Tae-ho, as reported by Naver on December 11, 2024. Scheduled to air in 2025, the program will mark their first collaboration in over a decade since their celebrated pairing at the 2013 Infinite Challenge Music Festival.

GD and Friends is a variety show that features a mix of humor, music, and engaging interactions while exploring G-Dragon and Jung Hyung-don's chemistry and creative journey. While details remain under wraps, the show’s first episode has already been filmed, and MBC is reviewing plans for its broadcast.


GD and Friends: All we know so far

G-Dragon is set to headline a new variety show helmed by PD Kim Tae-ho, tentatively titled GD and Friends or Good Day. According to TEO, Kim Tae-ho’s content production company, the show will reunite G-Dragon with comedian Jung Hyung-don, marking their first collaboration in 12 years since their iconic pairing in the 2013 Infinite Challenge Music Festival.

The duo’s comedic chemistry, known as "Hyungyongdonjyong," earned them widespread acclaim and the Best Couple Award at the 2013 MBC Entertainment Awards. The program, currently in its early filming stages, is expected to continue production until January 2025, with a planned release later that year.

While it remains unclear if Jung Hyung-don is part of the main cast or appearing as a guest, their reunion has generated significant excitement. PD Kim Tae-ho, who left MBC in 2021 to establish TEO, confirmed the project and acknowledged the anticipation surrounding their on-screen reunion.

MBC is reportedly reviewing the show for broadcast in 2025. A representative shared, “We are positively considering airing Kim Tae-ho’s new variety program.” GD and Friends will bring together G-Dragon, Jung Hyung-don, and PD Kim Tae-ho, recreating the nostalgia of their time on Infinite Challenge.

PD Kim Tae-ho, known for producing landmark shows like Infinite Challenge and What Do You Do When You Play?, has continued to innovate in the entertainment space since leaving MBC, with projects like Earth Mabul World Tour, Seoul Check-in, and Dance Singer Wandering Troupe. His return to MBC with GD and Friends marks a highly anticipated comeback.
