BIGBANG's G-Dragon is set to make his highly anticipated return to television with a new reality show, tentatively titled GD and Friends or Good Day. The program will reportedly showcase G-Dragon reconnecting with his close celebrity friends while offering fans a glimpse into his daily life and artistic inspirations. It is directed by Kim Tae-ho, known for producing shows like Infinite Challenge.

According to OSEN, South Korean artists from the acting and the K-pop world who are reported to feature on the upcoming show are:

  • Kim Soo-hyun (Queen of Tears)
  • Kim Go-eun (EXHUMA)
  • Im Si-wan (Squid Game 2)
  • Jung Hae-in (Snowdrop)
  • Hwang Jung-min (Narco-Saints)
  • Jo Se-ho
  • aespa
  • SEVENTEEN sub-unit BSS with members DK, Hoshi, and Seungkwan
  • BIGBANG members Taeyang and Daesung

The show will reunite the BIGBANG rapper with comedian Jung Hyung-don, with whom he shared comedic chemistry during the 2013 Infinite Challenge Song Festival. OSEN also reported that comedian Jo Sae-ho is in talks to join the cast, further heightening anticipation.

Filming for the first episode of GD and Friends or Good Day has already wrapped, and the show is expected to premiere on MBC in early 2025, with new episodes airing weekly.


G-Dragon's comeback after seven years with POWER carries his legacy from his previous solo projects

BIGBANG's G-Dragon recently made a return to music with his digital single, POWER, on October 31, 2024. The track, his first solo release in over seven years, reflected on his hiatus and explored themes of strength and media influence. G-Dragon's song was a satire of the media's power and a celebration of personal resilience.

The music video for POWER features the BIGBANG rapper's signature bold visuals and choreography. Fans praised the song for its introspective lyrics and innovative sound, marking a successful comeback after years of speculation about his next move.

According to Maeil Business Newspaper, the song topped South Korea's major music streaming platforms, including MelOn, Genie, and Bugs, in real-time on November 1, 2024. Furthermore, on October 31, 2024, MelON witnessed a hike of 8,30,000 listeners in five minutes on POWER.

In 2009, he released his debut studio album, Heartbreaker, which sold over 200,000 copies in South Korea and won the Mnet Asian Music Awards Album of the Year. In addition, G-Dragon's 2010 project with fellow BIGBANG member T.O.P, titled GD & T.O.P, produced chart-topping hits like High High.

In 2013, he released his second studio album, Coup d'Etat, featuring songs like Crooked, Niliria, and Who You?. The album blended hip-hop, EDM, and pop, and it topped the Billboard World Album Chart. Additionally, he has worked with international stars, such as Missy Elliott on Coup d'Etat.

His 2017 EP, Kwon Ji Yong, was named after his birth name and explored more personal themes. Released in a USB format, it included tracks like Untitled, 2014. The EP topped the iTunes charts in multiple countries.


In light of G-Dragon's connection with a diverse group of celebrities, including musicians and designers, GD and Friends aims to blend humor, nostalgia, and heartfelt moments.
