G-Dragon’s Good Day: A star-studded musical journey set to premiere in February
Good Day revolves around Big Bang’s leader G-Dragon’s mission to create the “song of the year” by teaming up with individuals from diverse fields. According to South Korean media outlet Newsen, the show’s concept originated from the BigBang leader himself, who envisioned a modern-day music festival. Reflecting on his inspiration, G-Dragon shared:
“I still remember the joy of watching the singers I admired perform on the same stage and the memories of laughing and singing with my brothers at the Infinite Challenge music festival. This project began with the question, ‘What if we could create a festival that everyone hopes for?’”
G-Dragon aims to create songs reminiscent of timeless classics like Tomorrow is Too Late, Become One, Red Sunset, and We Are the World, as per Newsen. The lyrics will be inspired by the personal stories of individuals he encounters during the project, culminating in a special track to celebrate the year.
Good Day boasts a stellar cast, including Lee Se Dol, Justin H. Min, Kyuhyun, Kang Ji Young, Yoon So Hee, Seven High, Lee Seung Hyun, Jung Hyun Gyu, Choi Hyun Joon, Chuu, Kim Ha Rin, Park Sang Yeon, Son Eun Yoo, and Tino.
A major highlight is the Kpop boy group’s leader's reunion with Jung Hyung-don, twelve years after their collaboration in the 2013 Infinite Challenge Song Festival. Other notable appearances include Defconn, Cho Sae-ho, and CODE KUNST, along with special guest spots by Hwang Kwang-hee, actors Hwang Jung-min, Kim Go-eun, Kim Soo-hyun, Jung Hae-in, and Im Si-wan.
On the musical front, the show features aespa, Seventeen’s Boo Seok-soon, DAY6, and fellow Big Bang members Taeyang and Daesung. The reunion of PD Kim Tae-ho and the BigBang leader, who share a strong bond from their Infinite Challenge days, has further elevated expectations. PD Kim Tae-ho, known for his innovative approach, is returning to MBC after three years.
Having established his independent company TEO, Kim has ventured into new creative challenges and Good Day is expected to highlight his signature directing style.
Fans worldwide are eagerly anticipating the premiere of this variety show in February.
