Gangnam B-side starring Ji Chang-wook, BIBI, Jo Woo-jin, Ha Yoon-kyung, Jeong Jae-kwang, and more, aired two new episodes on November 13, 2024. Episodes 3 and 4 delve deeper into the crime thriller of the underbelly of Gangnam, Seoul, involving drugs, prostitution, and murders.
The crime drama centers on Jae-hee aka Jenny (BIBI), a prostitute who is wanted for having important proof of the risky operations of many criminal organizations. Yoon Gil-Ho (Ji Chang-wook), her pimp, and the gangs both went looking for her.
Episode 3 of Gangnam B-side starts with Gil-Ho getting out of the river after being stabbed by the goons hunting Jae-hee. Prosecutor Seo-jin (Ha Yoon-kyung) sets out to find the truth behind the murder of the hostess girl, Jung-hwa—a friend and colleague of Jae-hee.

Seo-jin accidentally comes across Jae-hee at the subway station where Jung-hwa's dead body was recovered. But Jae-hee runs away. Gangnam B-side Episode 4 starts with Gil-ho arriving outside the nightclub, HYENA, where K-pop idol Noh Joon-seo (Jung Ga-ram) is ready to trap Gil-ho and murder him after getting information about Jae-hee's whereabouts.
However, the episode ends with Gil-ho fleeing away while Joon-seo getting killed by some other people who make it seem like a s*icide, and Jae-hee being admitted to the hospital.
Gangnam B-side Episode 3 Recap: Gil-ho survives the attack and sets out to find Jae-hee and save her
Detective Kang Dong-woo (Jo Woo-jin) gets caught up in the scenario and finds himself in the thick of a never-ending game of drug and s*x trafficking crimes in Gangnam's notorious nightclub, HYENA. Episode 3 shows the police discover Gil-ho's blade close to CEO Lee Gang-su's body. The HYENA owner was killed by Noh Joon-seo's lackey at the end of Gangnam B-side Episode 2.
Prosecutor Seo-jin tells her boss that they should try finding the real culprit rather than pinning the murder case on Gil-ho. However, she gets told off by Chief Prosecutor Tak. Meanwhile, Dong-woo and Jang-ho (Hyun Bong-sik) follow a drug smuggler's car, who also sends prostitutes to expensive hotels to spend the night with the clients.
Dong-woo arrives outside a building with the board "DAWN," the same building where the notorious nightclub AKIRA used to be, which he had busted three years ago (Gangnam B-side Episode 1). He and Jang-ho try to follow the dealer inside the building. Dong-woo splits to cover more bases while Jang-hoo takes another floor and finds a bag full of drugs and cash inside a room.
Meanwhile, Dong-woo hears the whimpering noises of two females and follows the sound only to find out that the dealer is filming the two females (prostitutes). Dong-woo beats the guy and covers the girls while another man jumps out of the washroom and pushes Dong-woo and tries to run away. After chasing him, Dong-woo catches him and sees that it's the police Major Crimes unit captain Ju Yoon.
The captain gets arrested for illegal filming of explicit content, drug abuse, intoxicating victims, and quasi-r*pe. Later, in Gangnam B-side Episode 3 Prosecutor Seo-jin comes to meet Dong-woo and asks him to share information on the murder case of Jung-hwa and how Gil-ho, Jae-hee, Noh Joon-seo, and the police captain are connected to it.
Dong-woo challenges Seo-jin for supporting the dishonest police officers. She tells him that Captain Ju Yoon would reveal all the secrets of Joon-seo. Dong-woo reveals that Jae-hee is a close friend of his daughter—whom Jae-hee saved from getting bullied—and he intends to find her and keep her safe. Seo-jin reveals that she can get in touch with Gil-ho through a cryptic app.
Meanwhile, another drug dealer and pimp, Psyche, calls Joon-seo that Gil-ho is alive. Joon-seo tells Psyche to lie to Gil-ho about Jae-hee's false abduction and to meet Joon-seo at HYENA after midnight in the VIP secret room. Gil-ho still isn't aware that Psyche is the one who took Jung-hwa to Joon-seo in episode 1 when Joon-seo and his rich friends tortured her and r*ped her before killing her.
Gangnam B-side Episode 3 ends with Joon-seo waiting for Gil-ho to arrive at the VIP room as he and his rich friends are waiting. Joon-seo tells his friends that he has caught Jae-hee and pulls off the curtain to show a girl handcuffed with a black bag on her head.
Gangnam B-side Episode 4 Recap: Gil-ho teams up with Detective Dong-woo and Prosecutor Seo-jin
Gangnam B-side Episode 4 begins with Gil-ho entering the elevator inside HYENA after meeting Psyche. Seo-jin calls Gil-ho and tells him that it's a trap and that he will get killed by Joon-seo and his men. Meanwhile, Joon-seo's friend locks a rope hook to the collarband of the girl they have in handcuffs.
Their escort is a female with a phony tattoo similar to Jae-hee on her body. Joon-seo's friend turns on the switch and then hangs the girl. Joon-seo films it on his phone camera and turns towards the door waiting for Gil-ho to enter, however, Prosecutor Seo-jin appears. Joon-seo gets irritated.
Seo-jin looks at the girl hanging from the rope and struggling. Joon-seo's friend turns off the switch and the girl falls on the ground. She takes off her mask, revealing that it wasn't Jae-hee. Seo-jin says that since they don't have Jae-hee, there's no reason for her to stay. Meanwhile, Gil-ho overhears this conversation on call via Seo-jin's phone.
Later, Gil-ho speaks to Detective Dong-woo from Seo-jin's phone and asks them to meet him at the abandoned game arcade. At the arcade, Seo-jin asks about Jung-hwa and Gil-ho tells them about Joon-seo’s events where they do whatever they want to prostitutes including killing them. Gil-ho reveals that he left Jung-hwa’s body at a subway station so that the police would be forced to investigate.
Gangnam B-side Episode 4 shows that Joon-seo is occupied with planning the Colosseum, an event where wealthy wager on an unregulated boxing ring. Psyche interrupts him and brings Jin-young, who wants to get paid for snitching on Jae-hee's location. But Joon-seo only tortures her until she relinquishes Jung-kwan's address (Gil-ho's friend).
Meanwhile, Gil-ho questions Dong-woo about why he wants to find Jae-hee. Dong-woo tells him that she is his daughter's best friend. Dong-woo then lashes out at Gil-ho, questioning him if they ever tried to pimp his daughter out. Gil-ho reveals that Ye-seo was just their friend whom they tried to help overcome her bullying incident.
Simultaneously, Chief Prosecutor Tak meets Joon-seo and asks him about the need to get Captain Ju Yoon killed inside the prison. Later, in Gangnam B-side Episode 4, Tak shuts down the murder case of Ju Yoon, to cover up for Joon-seo. Meanwhile, Psyche texts Jae-hee the pictures of Jin-young and Jung-kwan's tortured faces and asks her to meet Joon-seo.
Jae-hee tells Gil-ho on a call that she is going to end everything and go to the Colosseum by herself. Gil-ho rushes to save her while Detective Dong-woo is baffled by the development. Meanwhile, Gangnam B-side Episode 4 takes a turn as Gil-ho enters the boxing match at the Colosseum in disguise to find Jae-hee. Meanwhile, Jae-hee is waiting at the backstage to meet Joon-seo.
Dong-woo and Jang-ho arrive at the Colosseum where Jang-ho crashes his car in front of the entrance to create a distraction so that Dong-woo can enter the arena and find Gil-ho and save him. In the backstage, Jae-hee attacks Joon-seo and slashes his face, however, Joon-seo retaliates and cuts Jae-hee's face with a knife and drags her to his car.
Gil-ho finds them and throws a brick at the car to stop Joon-seo and Psyche from escaping with an injured Jae-hee. Psyche tries to run away after Joon-seo gets out of the car. Gil-ho starts beating up Joon-seo, thinking that Jae-hee is dead but Detective Dong-woo arrives and stops Gil-ho by telling him that Jae-hee is alive and Prosecutor Seo-jin has saved her and arrested Psyche.
Gangnam B-side Episode 4 ends with Gil-ho running off from the scene while Dong-woo leaves to go to the hospital where Jae-hee has been admitted. Prosecutor Seo-jin finds Joon-seo's dead body after he gets killed by a thug, who made it look like a s*icide. Meanwhile, Chief Prosecutor Tak announces to the media that Joon-seo was the culprit, hinting that he was behind his murder.
Gangnam B-side finale episodes 5 & 6 will be released on Disney+ on November 20, 2024.
