Good Partner starring Jang Na-ra, Nam Ji-hyun, Kim Jun-han, and Pyo Ji-hoon aired the final episode of the courtroom drama on September 20, SBS at 10 pm KST. Good Partner followed the story of two female lawyers who are opposite in personality and have different approaches to work.
Jang Na-ra depicts Cha Eun-kyung, a veteran lawyer with 17 years of experience in divorce cases. Nam Ji-hyun plays the rookie lawyer Han Yu-ri who begins working under Cha Eun-kyung, whom she was not fond of. Han Yu-ri puts her morals and ethics before her clients while Cha Eun-kyung’s priorities are to bring the best results for the company and the clients. Han Yu-ri eventually becomes Cha Eun-kyung’s good partner as they tackle new divorce cases with each episode.

With the end of Good Partner, Cha Eun-kyung and Han Yu-ri help their clients prevent divorce despite being opponents. In personal life, Cha Eun-kyung learns another secret about Jung Woo-jin (Kim Jun-han) in the new case, while Jeon Eun-ho (Pyo Ji-hoon) proposes to Han Yu-ri for marriage.

Good Partner ending explained: Cha Eun-kyung and Han Yu-ri continue with their partnership in rivalry
Good Partner episode 16 leaped for the year when Kim Jae-hee entered middle school while Cha Eun-kyung received more cases at her independent law firm. Han Yu-ri became a senior who faced a new crisis of mentoring a recruit. Surprisingly, Park Ae-yeon (Son Ji-na), Oh Dae-gyu's (Jung Jae-sung) wife visited Jung Woo-jin at Daejeong Law Firm to take up her divorce case. Notably, Jung Woo-jin is Oh Dae-gyu's son but he referred to Park Ae-yeon as “aunt”.
When Oh Dae-gyu found out that Jung Woo-jin had assigned Park Ae-yeon's case to Han Yu-ri, he was furious as the law firm he built represented his wife, not him. He tried to stop them, however, Han Yu-ri had already signed a contract with Park Ae-yeon. Oh Dae-gyu then approached Cha Eun-kyung to represent him in the court.
In the first trial, Oh Dae-gyu revealed his intention of not wanting a divorce. This led to a huge argument between him and Park Ae-yeon. During their fight, Park Ae-yeon said that he never appreciated her and she only lived her life as Oh Dae-gyu’s wife, raising someone else's child. To which, Oh Dae-gyu replied that what else could he have done when his ex-girlfriend before marriage showed up with a child out of the blue? This left Cha Eun-kyung and Han Yu-ri in shock.
Cha Eun-kyung and Han Yu-ri realized that formal meetings should be arranged as their clients have a lot more to discuss before the next step. Oh Dae-gyu also agreed that he would sign a divorce settlement if Park Ae-yeon asks for feasible alimony. During their meeting, Park Ae-yeon asked for 2 billion KRW which was achievable for Oh Dae-gyu, however, he hesitated a lot.
They started another argument and were not honest with each other, so Han Yu-ri and Cha Eun-kyung stepped in and interpreted their words. Oh Dae-gyu mustered up his courage and got down on his knees to sincerely apologize for his mistakes and expressed his gratitude for Park Ae-yeon.
Park Ae-yeon also honestly spoke up that she felt lonely during the 30 years of their marriage, she also acknowledged that she lived a comfortable life because of Oh Dae-gyu. This way, the good partners avoided Jung Woo-jin’s parents’ divorce.
In the second half of Good Partner's final episode, Cha Eun-kyung suggests to her daughter Kim Jae-hee (Yuna) to meet her father Kim Ji-sang (Ji Seung-hyun). Kim Jae-hee decided to meet Han Yu-ri before making her decision as they both had similar experiences with fathers cheating on their mothers.
Kim Jae-hee did not want to forgive her father and continue seeing him but she also missed him as they were very close to each other. Han Yu-ri stated that she should do whatever her heart says, but that she should try meeting her father and get angry at him rather than not seeing him at all. This was because Han Yu-ri missed her chance to reconcile with her father before he passed away.
Cha Eun-kyung approached Kim Ji-sang asking him to reach out to Kim Jae-hee as she missed him. She also told her daughter that she may not be able to forgive Kim Ji-sang but Kim Jae-hee may forgive her father if she wants, as Cha Eun-kyung doesn't want Kim Jae-hee to lose her father because of her. Finally, Kim Ji-sang and Kim Jae-hee were reunited after a year.
Possibilities of Good Partner Season 2 explored
Later, while having dinner at a restaurant Han Yu-ri asked Cha Eun-kyung to give her tips to teach the recruit Lee Han-na (Go Ah-sung). And learning about Lee Han-na, Cha Eun-kyung stated that she sounded exactly like rookie Han Yu-ri. As the two continued their conversation, Cha Eun-kyung noticed a ring on Han Yu-ri’s hand and asked her about Jeon Eun-ho.
Han Yu-ri revealed that she was proposed to by Jeon Eun-ho but she had not replied to him yet as she did not know the correct answer. Cha Eun-kyung told her that there were no correct answers to marriage or staying single and that it was up to people to make those choices the right ones.
Good Partner provided closure to all the characters in the drama, leaving no room for further queries, which seemingly lowers the chances of a second season. However, the production team of the drama is yet to make a statement about the possibility of the title being renewed for another season.
