Good Partner, featuring Jang Na-ra, Nam Ji-hyun, Kim Jun-han, and Pyo Ji-hoon, returned after a huge break. SBS aired Good Partner episodes 6 and 7 on Friday, August 16, and Saturday, August 17 at 10 pm KST. Good Partner is about a popular divorce lawyer Cha Eun-kyung (Jang Na-ra) and her rookie subordinate, Han Yu-ri (Nam Ji-hyun).
Cha Eun-kyung is a veteran lawyer with 17 years of experience in divorce cases. She is goal-driven and prioritizes her clients and the law firm over emotions and feelings. Meanwhile, Han Yu-ri is a rookie lawyer who had no interest in divorce but ended up on Cha Eun-kyung's team.
Han Yu-ri upholds ethics and justice and is often swayed by emotions while handling cases. Han Yu-ri has different values and goals; however, she becomes a good partner of Cha Eun-kyung as the drama moves further.

In the recent developments, Han Yu-ri found herself questioning Cha Eun-kyung's behavior as Cha Eun-kyung was considering Han Yu-ri's late father's mistress' case. This created a misunderstanding in Han Yu-ri's eyes for Cha Eun-kyung.
Good Partner ep 6-7 recap - Nam Ji-hyun misunderstands while Jang Na-ra helps her behind her back
Episode 6 of Good Partner began with Cha Eun-kyung and Han Yu-ri in the courtroom fighting for the former's daughter Kim Jae-hee's custody. That's when the two realized that Kim Ji-sang (Ji Seung-hyun) was serious about Jae-hee's custody. Later, Cha Eun-kyung received a call from Jae-hee's school as she was nowhere to be found.
After searching for Jae-hee, Cha Eun-kyung found out she was with Choi Sa-ra (Han Jae-yi). However, she kept calm and left the place for the sake of her daughter. Taking Han Yu-ri's advice, Cha Eun-kyung started looking after Jae-hee as she did not want to lose her daughter. However, despite her efforts, she could not understand what her child wanted as she had always been absent when she needed her.
Kim Jae-hee asked Han Yu-ri to hang out with her. Han Yu-ri opened up about her father who cheated on her mother, the same case with Jae-hee. The two shared a deep conversation, where Jae-hee revealed that she grew up almost alone as her mother was busy with her work.
She learned a lot in the process and matured quite before the time, given the situation, but both her parents continued to treat her like a child. Jae-hee stated that she understood the situation but needed time to choose between her mother and father.
On the other hand, Choi Sa-ra was promoted from the post of Cha Eun-kyung’s secretary to the chief of management. Choi Sa-ra’s dream came true to have her cabin. As soon as she got to take a look at her office, Cha Eun-kyung told her that she was fired for violating office policies.
In episode 7 of Good Partner, Kim Hui-ra (Lee Jin-Hee) came to Daejeong Law Firm to get a consultation from Cha Eun-kyung. Kim Hui-ra is Han Yu-ri’s late father's mistress, who had come to see Cha Eun-kyung to take revenge against Han Yu-ri. Kim Hui-ra and Yu-ri’s father Han Myung-jong (Lee Yoon-gun) were represented by Cha Eun-kyung during the divorce case. However, Cha Eun-kyung did not remember her.
Kim Hui-ra’s motive behind meeting Cha Eun-kyung was to take the house Han Yu-ri’s mother Kim Kyung-sook (Seo Jung-yeon) was living in. She showed a “gift” will, written by Han Myung-jong before he died and since it was not formatted legally, Cha Eun-kyung said it was of no use.
This created a misunderstanding between Cha Eun-kyung and Han Yu-ri. When Yu-ri asked Cha Eun-kyung if she would take Kim Hui-ra’s case, she said she would think about it. Cha Eun-kyung met Kim Kyung-sook to ask about Kim Hui-ra. However, Kim Kyung-wook lashed out at Cha Eun-kyung, as she did not want to get a divorce but lost the case because of her.
Kim Kyung-sook revealed that she had already given 300 million KRW to Kim Hui-ra as she was afraid she would go after Han Yu-ri. This was because Han Yu-ri protested at Kim Hui-ra and Han Myung-jong’s workplace, revealing their adultery, resulting in both of them losing their jobs.
Meanwhile, Good Partner showed a drastic change in Kim Ji-sang and Choi Sa-ra's relationship. Choi Sa-ra showed her interest in living with Kim Ji-sang after the case was closed.
However, they got into a heated conversation where he revealed that he was not interested in getting married after his first marriage failed. Kim Ji-sang also stated that his daughter Kim Jae-hee will always be his priority. Kim Ji-sang stated that he was tired of Choi Sa-ra and that they should end their relationship if this continued.
Later in Good Partner episode 7, Kim Kyung-sook collected evidence about the 300 million KRW transaction and recorded a conversation of Kim Hui-ra blackmailing her. Kim Kyung-sook gave the evidence to Cha Eun-kyung. Meanwhile, Han Yu-ri was not happy that Cha Eun-Kyung was considering Kim Hui-ra's case
Kim Hui-ra visited Cha Eun-kyung again. She had previously demanded that Han Yu-ri should be fired. However, watching her continue working at Daejeong Law Firm, Kim Hui-ra went all in, saying that she had nothing to lose. Cha Eun-kyung reminded her that she had extorted 300 million KRW and that she should leave before Han Yu-ri found this out and filed a criminal and civil lawsuit against her.
Cha Eun-kyung then called Han Yu-ri in and asked her about Kim Hui-ra’s case as she had a lot on her plate. Yu-ri declined so Cha Eun-kyung asked her to get rid of Kim Hui-ra and she asked her to get lost.
Han Yu-ri was surprised that given Cha Eun-kyung’s personality, she was not expecting her to let go of a client. Cha Eun-kyung and Han Yu-ri went for a coffee break, where she revealed that she was the one who represented Han Yu-ri’s father.
Cha Eun-kyung said that she paid her debt to Kim Kyung-sook as she now understands that she is going through her divorce. However, Han Yu-ri thanked her for winning the case, as her mother would have lived her life alone if she had won the case since her father was not going to come back.
Good Partner ended with a cliffhanger unveiling that Choi Sa-ra was pregnant. Meanwhile, Kim Ji-sang and Cha Eun-kyung went through the custody investigation, where Kim Ji-sang stated that he raised Jae-hee alone leaving Cha Eun-kyung in tears.
Good Partner episode 8 is scheduled to air on Friday, August 23 on SBS at 10 pm KST.
