RUN JIN aired episode 9 titled Blood, Sweat & Peppers on BTS' official YouTube channel, BANGTANTV, on October 8, 2024. The episode was divided into two segments where he farmed with Soongsil University students in the first half and competed with them in a quiz in the second half. During the quiz, there were three teams consisting of two players each.
The BTS idol was paired with his manager, who has been with him for several years. The second team had two students from Soongsil University Law School—the ones who farmed with him in the morning. The third team comprised two production staff members, who have been working with the K-pop septet since Run BTS! started in 2015.
While playing the game, one of the students sitting beside the BTS singer asked him how is it to live like a superstar. In response, the Moon singer-songwriter explained that he got used to filming content and singing hence his life is no different than a regular person's. His answer impressed the viewers as they praised him on social media.
One fan wrote on X:
"Rather than being intimidated people tend to show more respect on him, the fact that everyone around him naturally became comfortable with him even for the first time..he is the most humble"
The BTS ARMY lauded the BTS singer for his humility and appreciated his good "upbringing".
"This is such a good question btw and the way Seokjin answered that it’s just the same… it clearly shows how humility is such a big part of his personality and upbringing. and it’s so different when he himself say he’s a “superstar” because that is just an ice breaker for him," a fan wrote.
"This whole episode showcased his humility & how down to earth he is, he doesn't behave with a single bit of air of a superstar. The little things like knowing exactly what job the staff does & even the way he talks to the students & grill the meat for them. He's fr the standard," another fan added.
"Jin is really smart. Explains himself using parallelism which makes it easy to understand and appreciate what he's saying," a person on X said.
Others highlighted that the singer hasn't let fame get to his head even after being in the K-pop industry for over 12 years.
"With ordinary people Jin acted as a simple guy like them, no superstar complex bc he humbles himself before them, he treats them as special people even so lucky they met Jin that treated them so kindly," one fan wrote.
"This is why members look upto to him because he's the centre of gravity when it comes fame, money and popularity. This is why all the members are confident but not arrogant. This is why all the members are so level headed despite the mega success. This is why they are BTS," another fan commented.
"Remember how Halsey said tannies don't take themselves too seriously? U can kinda see what she meant in seokjin's answer here imo. For him this is just his life and his job. I respect this mentality, someone that hasn't let fame get to his head," one other fan added.
RUN JIN episode 9 highlights and hilarious moments
BTS' Jin continued to entertain ARMYs with his humorous and grounded demeanor in RUN JIN episode 9. Known for his lighthearted banter, Jin made a jest about promising himself to never go back to the military camp where he served his enlistment. However, the episode brought him right outside the military training camp, where he served from December 13, 2022, to June 12, 2024.
He joked that the popular K-pop band SEVENTEEN might join him. But when it was revealed to be students, he accepted the situation. In the episode, he worked with Soongsil University students in a rural community in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi-do.
He joined the university students in picking peppers and even related stories of his early days when he worked on his uncle's farm. The students asked him how they should call him and the BTS idol suggested that they could call him a "big brother.
However, the students started calling him "Ahjussi,"—usually used to address someone who is in their late 40s and 50s in Korea. This further added humor to the episode as the BTS singer was baffled by being called so old. Later, the Moon singer shared that he went to meet his military juniors a few days ago and brought food for them.
RUN JIN airs new episodes every Tuesday on BANGTANTV YouTube channel. Episode 10 will feature B1A4's Sandeul as the show's special guest. He will go on a fishing trip with the BTS idol as the episode focuses on their decade-old friendship.
