Park Jimin of BTS released his second solo album, MUSE, on July 19, 2024. It has seven tracks, including the hit song WHO. On August 7, 2024, Pdogg and GHSTLOOP told Weverse magazine how the BTS idol showed a stronger resilience in creating MUSE compared to creating his debut solo album, FACE.

For the uninitiated, FACE was released on March 24, 2024, and marked the Promise singer's solo journey. Pdogg and GHSTLOOP, the music producers for HYBE who collaborated on both these solo albums, recalled how the singer "practiced" and recorded MUSE "right up until he entered the army."

"For a producer, there’s nothing better than an artist who works hard. He practiced right up until he entered the army, all so the album would be like a gift for his fans. I’m so thankful to him for that, and proud of him, too. (laughs) Now I want nothing more than for him to finish his service in good health."

Pdogg and GHSTLOOP praised Jimin and said, "He constantly puts in the effort to improve himself"

GHSTLOOP revealed that they were working on FACE and MUSE simultaneously. Pdogg said that the atmosphere of the MUSE songs didn't go with the way it felt while they were creating FACE since the latter centered around depression, loneliness, and inner battles. Thus, they divided them into two distinct albums as MUSE had more uplifting tracks.

Pdogg recalled that Rebirth: Intro wouldn't have been born if Jimin hadn't fiddled with the KARMA synthesizer. He continued by stating that everything fell into place after Rebirth: Intro was created. Furthermore, the HYBE music producer lauded BTS' Jimin for his perseverance and incessant will to "improve himself."

"He constantly puts in the effort to improve himself. Even when he had nothing he could promote, he did vocal training right up until his enlistment as though he felt compelled to. After FACE, he was driven to do even better on the next album, and that determination drove him to practice really, really hard," Pdogg said.

GHSTLOOP added that there were several acoustic remixes for MUSE's tracks because Jimin wouldn't stop practicing and ended up creating several good renditions of the songs.

"The whole reason there’s an acoustic remix, to begin with, is because he practiced so much that it would’ve been a waste not to record something. (laughs)"

Both veteran music producers from HYBE shared that WHO took the longest to record and write since various renditions were attempted with it. BTS' Park Jimin gave a briefing to everyone on his ideas and vision for the song when they met with Jon Bellion, who produced it with them.

Using the singer's words as a model, Jon Bellion translated them into English and created the lyrics. According to Pdogg, Jimin's intentions with WHO were evident as he wanted an upbeat yet intriguing song, without making it too heartwrenching. The song tackles the BTS idol's desire to find his soulmate as he envisions her imaginary presence.

For the unversed, Pdogg and GHSTLOOP have been working with BTS since they debuted in 2013. The music producers are one of the oldest members of BigHit Entertainment (now HYBE Corporation) and have contributed to a majority of the band's songs and scores.
