On Thursday, October 17, 2024, BTS' Jung Ho-seok aka j-hope was officially discharged from the military. His bandmate, Kim Seok-jin arrived outside the military base to welcome the ARSON rapper-songwriter to civilian life. Astute fans noticed that The Astronaut musician, Jin, sported a burgundy hair color as he walked to hug j-hope, wearing a burgundy Gucci ensemble.
After the eldest member of BTS, Jin completed his mandatory national service in June 2024, j-hope became the second member of the band to complete the service. The ARSON rapper stepped outside the military facility in Wonju, Gangwon province, sporting a uniform and a black beret.
While addressing questions from the paparazzi outside the military base, a female journalist knelt beside j-hope, holding a stack of microphones from several news outlets. The journalist did that to ensure that j-hope's words were well-recorded. Jin came forward to assist j-hope, took the stack of microphones from a journalist, and knelt down in the place of the journalist.
As hilarious as this moment was for the BTS fandom, they couldn't help but notice The Astronaut singer's burgundy hair color shining through the sunlight. Furthermore, the musician left his fans in stitches as he tried to swat a bug while holding onto the stack of microphones.
Meanwhile, a fan highlighted Jin's matching trousers with his hair color, referencing the Run BTS! episode where the singer hilariously mocked BTS' Namjoon for having a purple hair color matching his purple trousers. The fan wrote on X,
"Guys, his hair matches his pants. It’s all come full circle"
The BTS fandom lauded the singer for his latest look and hailed it as "one of his best looks."
"Coloured hair.... rings..... earrings jin please come back to me," a fan wrote.
"Ok but can we talk about how this is one of his best look," another fan said.
"Now THIS might have defeated purple jin for me I fear," one other fan added.
Others underscored the outfit-check of The Astronaut singer-songwriter as he donned an all-Gucci burgundy ensemble with a black pair of Gucci boots. He finished his look by wearing a FRED Force 10 ring on his left pinky finger.
"Seokjin dyed his hair burgundy. look at the best brand ambassador Face of Gucci and Face of Fred Kim Seokjin. From top to bottom he is wearing Gucci and Fred. even his glasses are Gucci’s," one fan stated.
"Seokjinnie fighting bugs and looking dashing as hell in his burgundy hair," another fan wrote.
"Can we agree that jin's burgundy undertone hair is the best hair of ALL times." one other fan added.
BTS' j-hope returns home, safely finishing his mandatory national military service
j-hope arrived at the gate of the Wonju military training center and bowed to the journalists waiting outside the base. As requested by BIGHIT MUSIC earlier, the BTS fandom didn't show up to respect the idol's wish and avoid congregation outside the military base.
As reported and translated by Reuters, the ARSON rapper-songwriter addressed the reporters and said:
"Thanks to the fans, I was able to finish it (the service) safely, with good health. What I've felt for the past a year-and-a-half is that a lot of soldiers are working hard, dedicating themselves, and doing so much to protect the country."
Meanwhile, rest five members weren't present during j-hope's discharge due to their ongoing military enlistments. However, reports of members' leaves being canceled surfaced online as North Korea blasted railways and roads connecting to South Korea. Reuters reported that North Korean Supreme Leader, Kim Jong-un's constituency declared South Korea as a "hostile state."
Due to this provocative action, the South Korean military has reportedly called back all military personnel from their leaves. Moreover, BTS leader Kim Namjoon came home on the night of October 16, as confirmed by the editor of Eyes Magazine, Park Jin-pyo's Instagram story.
However, Namjoon's absence from j-hope's military discharge event further asserts that his leave may have been rescinded due to the ongoing hostile crisis between two Korean countries that have been in a state of war since 1950.
In other news, BTS' Namjoon, Jimin, Jungkook, Taehyung, and Suga will return to civilian life in June 2025 after finishing their military service.
