On January 8, 2025, BTS' Jungkook shared a long message for the ARMY via the Korean social media platform Weverse. The BTS member sent New Year's greetings to his fans, alongside mentioning his eagerly awaited comeback. He mentioned his military discharge and also shared his plans to focus on his growth after completing his service.

“It's the year of the military discharge and the year we meet ARMY. But I don't think there's much change in my thoughts. Just like always, I'm just missing you... I want to spend time learning various things for ARMY and focusing on growth. I think time is going by well. Please run by faster... I feel a bit overwhelmed because I miss you so much” Jungkook wrote.
BTS' Jungkook went on to wish his fans good health. He also expressed how much he misses his followers and wishes that time would speed up so that he could return sooner.
“It's already January and it's the 8th...Are you all healthy? I hope you all have many blessings. I hope you didn't get off to a bad start to the new year. And that you had a good start, because even if I tell you not to get sick/hurt, people can't help but get sick/hurt. I hope it doesn't hurt as much as it does.” Jungkook added.
BTS' Jungkook will be discharged from the military in June 2025
Jeon Jungkook commenced his military training in December 2023. He is anticipated to finish his term in June this year. Besides Jungkook, SUGA, Jimin, Taehyung, and RM are also serving their terms in the military as of this writing. Only Jin and j-hope completed their respective duties in 2024.
On December 18, 2024, BTS' Jungkook surprised fans with a Weverse livestream. This became his inaugural live engagement with supporters since military enlistment, and the reaction was record-breaking. The livestream garnered over 20.2 million concurrent viewers, setting an all-time high on Weverse and exceeding his prior record of 16 million views.
During his Weverse live, Jungkook gave a home tour to his fans. He also sang several songs by different artists, including Bruno Mars’ Die With A Smile, BLACKPINK Rosé’s APT., Taehyung’s Winter Ahead, BIGBANG’s Home Sweet Home, and more.
In other news, BTS' Jungkook became the first K-pop soloist to sell more than 3.2 million albums on Hanteo with his independent album GOLDEN on January 1, 2025. The 3D vocalist’s record was the best-selling K-pop album in Hanteo's history. Jungkook's album GOLDEN came out on November 3, 2023. The BTS member beat Kim Gun-mo's 29-year-old record for Wrongful Meeting.
