On Thursday, August 29, LE SSERAFIM's Eunchae issued an apology for allegedly mocking school students during a 2023 livestream. The statement was issued during the K-pop girl group's Seoul showcase for their upcoming fourth mini-album CRAZY.

The incident in question took place in March last year when LE SSERAFIM went live on the popular fan-artist community platform Weverse and were discussing school-related topics.

The airing was held the night before the quintet's fan meeting event, where the FEARLESS group was talking about school students having to wake up early in the morning. Speaking to viewers, the 17-year-old idol commented on how tough it must be to attend school for a long time.

Furthermore, in September of the same year, the LE SSERAFIM maknae also spoke on similar topics during a live broadcast, expressing that she didn't understand why people need to study at school. This remark was also not well received by netizens, who apparently considered it as her allegedly looking down on or mocking students.

In her apology during the showcase, Eunchae reflected on her previous words and pledged to be more mindful in the future.

"I thought it would be okay (to be casual) because it was a place to communicate with fans. I should have been more careful, especially with those who are closer to me. I failed to think deeply about these aspects. I apologize for causing disappointment with these immature words. I will be more cautious and responsible from now on."

In her live in March, she had commented,

"You guys go to school for quite a long time. It must be tough."

While in the snippet from the Weverse live, her co-members seemed to agree with her on the topic, the video raised much disapproval among audiences for Eunchae, including the other comment she made in September 2023. On the other hand, fans have also come to the idol's defense regarding the same.

LE SSERAFIM to make a comeback with fourth mini album CRAZY

LE SSERAFIM will be releasing their fourth mini album CRAZY on August 30, 2024, at 1 PM KST/12 AM ET. The third mini-album EASY boasted five tracks - the titular title song EASY, Good Bones, Swan Song, Smart, and We got so much.

On August 28, the music video for Smart surpassed 100 million YouTube views, joining LE SSERAFIM's previous music videos like FEARLESS, ANTIFRAGILE, UNFORGIVEN, and Eve, Psyche & The Bluebeard's wife in the feat. On August 29, their MV for Perfect Night also hit the milestone.

Meanwhile, the upcoming EP is set to contain five songs - the eponymous lead track CRAZY, Chasing Lightning, Pierrot, 1-800-hot-n-fun, and Crazier. The title track is supposed to capture the excitement of meeting someone who makes you feel crazy.

The new music release has much to offer. CRAZY is described as a house genre track, produced by 13, iluvjulia, "Hitman" Bang, and others. The song Pierrot is a hip-hop style song that samples the 1990s hit Pierro Laughs At Us by Kim Wan-sun.

LE SSERAFIM's Huh Yunjin, who previously partook in penning Smart, also co-produced the fifth track Crazier along with 13.

Additionally, 1-800-hot-n-fun from the new EP debuted earlier this year during the LE SSERAFIM's Coachella performance in April. The song Chasing Lightning was also teased through the CRAZY concept trailer. Several teasers including concept films and track samplers have been launched in line with the release.

Ahead of their comeback, six months after their February EP EASY, the Source Music group held a pre-release showcase in Seoul on August 29, where they delivered a live performance of CRAZY.
