BLACKPINK’s Rosé officially launched her highly anticipated debut solo studio album, Rosie, released on December 6, 2024. The album includes 12 tracks, including pre-releases like APT., a duet with Bruno Mars, and Number One Girl, which gained massive popularity ahead of the album’s release.

However, it’s the track, toxic till the end, released on December 6, 2024, alongside her album captivated fans due to its deeply personal inspiration: a toxic relationship from the BLACKPINK idol's past.

The official X account of Hits Daily UK posted a snippet of her upcoming interview with them where Rosé revealed that the lyric from her latest track, toxic till the end, where she sang about her ex stealing her Tiffany ring, was fictional. She clarified that it never happened but she added the part as a metaphor. Fans were left in stitches over the latest revelation.

One fan wrote on X and said they enjoyed speculating about her ex being "broke."

"i was kinda enjoying the broke allegations"

Fans joked about how her real-life ex might have wondered if he really took the BLACKPINK idol's Tiffany ring after fans flooded social media with their conjectures.

"The Ex after hearing the lyrics: did I accidentally take her Tiffany rings??" wrote a fan.
"need the full interview, because everyone is just overanalyzing every lines of the song rosé," commented another fan.
"Oh she's just so damn cute! And also I knew it! That tiffany ring is a methaphor and I believe a lot of other lyrics on her album," said a user.

While some fans commented on how well-written the lines are, others discussed how some listeners of the song took the lyrics literally.

"That lines was so well-written actually that's why ttte is my first pick amongst the releases LIKE C'MON GIRLIE HURT US MOREEE," wrote a fan.
"Some ppl don't understand what a metaphor is. ofc she wouldn't date a thief," commented another fan.
"This is exactly my thought like its a song its normal to be exaggerating in song lyrics but you guys took it as every lyric is a true story." added a user.

BLACKPINK’s Rosé releases debut solo album Rosie inspired by past relationship

In The Zane Lowe Show interview (December 4, 2024) ahead of the release, Rosé shared how her previous relationship, which she described as emotionally draining and toxic, became the creative foundation for much of the album’s lyrics. She revealed candidly that writing about this experience helped her process and heal.

The original title for toxic till the end was "The Ex," but she decided on the current title to better reflect the emotional weight of the song.

"That's almost actually was supposed to be called 'The Ex'. We started writing it being like, 'Oh my god, it's about time. We talked about 'The Ex' a bit too much. It's about time to rewrite a song called, 'The Ex'. But then we came up with a better punchline. So we put it in that section and I was like, 'I need to talk about it.'"

The album reflects a variety of emotions, blending Rosé’s signature heartfelt storytelling with pop and acoustic influences. Here’s the full tracklist of Rosie:

  1. Number One Girl
  2. 3AM
  3. Stay a Little Longer
  4. Not the Same
  5. Call It the End
  6. Two Years
  7. toxic till the end
  8. Drinks or Coffee
  9. APT (feat. Bruno Mars)
  10. Gameboy
  11. Too Bad for Us

The song toxic till the end stood out for its raw vulnerability as it delved into the complexities of a love that is simultaneously destructive and consuming. The MV was directed by famous filmmaker Ramez Silyan and starred the BLACKPINK idol and actor Evan Mock as the "toxic ex."

The album also includes the viral single APT., a fun track featuring Bruno Mars, based on a popular Korean drinking game. Furthermore, fans noted the Taylor Swift-like storytelling style evident in tracks like Two Years and Stay a Little Longer, which echoed themes of love, loss, and resilience.
