Cast of Love Next Door Share Emotional Farewells Ahead of Final Episode

Reflecting on the conclusion of Love Next Door, Jung Hae-in expressed his sadness over the series ending to Korean media outlet Newsen.

“I, too, as a viewer, was enjoying watching it, so I'm sad that it's ending,” he noted.

Jung So-min added that the reality of the series’ conclusion had not fully set in.

“It doesn't feel real that filming has ended, and I can't believe that the end is approaching. I think it's because I've never let go of Love Next Door in my heart," she stated.

Other cast members also shared their thoughts to the media outlet. Kim Ji-eun expressed her attachment to the series and its characters.

“I thought about the memories from the filming set while watching the show every week, but it’s sad that there are only two episodes left. I’ve grown so attached to it and will cherish it for a long time and reminisce about it from time to time,” she commented.

Yoon Ji-on echoed these sentiments, stating that he looked forward to each episode but now wished time would slow down as the end approaches. He expressed gratitude to the audience.

“I thought I wanted the weekend to come quickly every week so I could watch the show, but I wish the weekend wouldn’t come this week. Still, I feel warm in my heart because of the regret, so I’m grateful to the viewers who loved Love Next Door,” he said.

In addition to their reflections on Love Next Door, the actors spoke about what their roles meant to them personally in conversations with Newsen. Jung Hae-in described his character, Choi Seung-hyo, as someone he related to deeply, considering the role as an opportunity for growth.

“I think it will be remembered as a work that was so enjoyable and happy that I wanted to go to the set every day. Choi Seung-hyo is a character who has many similarities to me in real life, so there were many parts that I could relate to," he added.

Jung So-min felt fortunate to have portrayed Bae Seok-ryu, stating that she would continue to support the characters in her heart.

"I don’t think their stories end with the ending. I want to cheer on all the stories of the Hyelin-dong people that will unfold in the future,” she said.

Kim Ji-eun emphasized the positive energy her character Jung Mo-eum brought into her life. Yoon Ji-on compared his experience on the show to finding a “four-leaf clover,” calling it a lucky and fulfilling experience.

Looking ahead to the final episodes of Love Next Door, the cast teased significant moments for viewers. Jung Hae-in pointed to emotional scenes involving Seung-hyo, Seok-ryu, and their families. Jung So-min encouraged viewers to savor the romantic development between Seung-hyo and Seok-ryu.

Key storylines of Love Next Door included the reunion of childhood friends Choi Seung-hyo (played by Jung Hae-in) and Bae Seok-ryu (played by Jung So-min) who transitioned from friends to lovers. The drama also has the deepening relationship between Jung Mo-eum (played by Kim Ji-eun) and Kang Dan-ho (played by Yoon Ji-on).

The chemistry among the four main actors—Jung Hae-in, Jung So-min, Kim Ji-eun, and Yoon Ji-on has been highlighted as a key factor in the show’s success.
