BLACKPINK Rosé's full-length debut album Rosie is an intimate affair
BLACKPINK's Rosé is set to release her first album, Rosie, on December 6. The album consists of 13 songs. Out of the thirteen, two songs have been pre-released, including the global hit single APT. featuring Bruno Mars and Number One Girl.
The majority of the songs in her first album deal with some heavier themes, such as being in a toxic relationship. In an interview with PAPER magazine, the singer revealed that if people would give her songs a listen, they would find her relatable.
"I do want people to understand that I'm not much different from your average girlfriend, or 23-year-old girl. I'm probably very relatable if you listen to my songs, and if anyone's been in that kind of a relationship. It doesn't even have to be about a boyfriend, just any type of toxic relationship."
Rosé also mentioned that her journey throughout her 20s inspired her to write and release Rosie. She emphasized the range of emotions a person in their 20s experiences, and that is what she wanted to sing about.
The album Rosie is influenced by producers such as Amy Allen, who rose to fame with Sabrina Carpenter's Espresso, and Michael Pollack, who has worked with artists like Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus, and Lizzo.
Prior to the release of her much-awaited debut album, the BLACKPINK member had already broken and registered multiple records with the release of her single APT. featuring Bruno Mars. Recently, she earned the record of being the first and only Korean act to spend an entire month at the top of the Global Apple Music Daily chart.
Rosé's second pre-release single, Number One Girl, also topped the iTunes Top Songs chart in around 34 countries, including Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Argentina, Vietnam, Mexico, and more.
BLACKPINK's Rosé has been going viral throughout the pre-release promotional tour of her album. She made headlines with a collaboration with South Korean rapper-singer Lee Youngji as the duo sang Rosé's hit single APT. on KBS2's The Seasons - Lee Youngji's Rainbow. She also performed Number One Girl live for the first time.
